One record established, one equalled and another potentially just around the corner. Last night’s 5-0 victory over Fiorentina was the highest winning margin from official fixtures contested between the Bianconeri and the Viola in Florence. The previous record was set by Lippi’s side on 30 April 1995, when Vialli, Baggio, Ravanelli and Marocchi fired Juventus to a 4-1 success.

Antonio Conte referred to the record equalled by his men at the end of yesterday’s game against the Viola: 28 championship games without defeat, established by Fabio Capello’s side in 2005/06.

And another important achievement remains within an arm’s reach: the club’s all-time unbeaten record of 30 games. The run began on 6 November 2005, courtesy of a 2-0 home win over Livorno, and drew to a close on 2 September 2007 with a 3-2 success over Cagliari.

Yesterday's resounding 5-0 triumph sees the Bianconeri on 29 games without defeat, including last season’s 2-2 draw with Napoli that brought down the curtains on the 2010/11 campaign. Just one more to go...
