I never made any motions to ban him, so I really can't comment on his situation with any kind of authority or inside info. Unlike almost all other posters here, I've always found it odd that he was one of the only ones who would come across as, "Hi. I'm Erkka. You don't know me. And would you get off your fat ass and make my thread sticky, you retard?"
I'm paraphrasing, of course. But that's been largely his approach from my experience. Not exactly the sort of behavior that earns respect from others.

Amen, mikhail. Some people actually ask for temp bans around here as a favor. 
In the olden days of the vBulletin2 covered wagon trail, it was either empty threats or pretty much a permanent ban managed by the site owner. With temp bans, I think there's a better chance of allowing cooling off periods and measuring out a way of handling an offense.

Marty's post could be considered a warning,
( a privilege we dont all enjoy )
a wise member ought to get the meaning and avoid the direct threat (shut up or get ur self a ban),
we also might ,missing a clue ( like a pm to Marty? after that or any past incidents )
Erkka might sound a bit of arrogant sometimes
and this particular time was a little offending and provocative
defending the idea he thought would bring justice,
on the the other hand he had no personal issues over someone
and a couple of hours ban would be sufficient to calm his tender
and make him understand that the mods job is a v.difficult one
their decision sould be respected and not openly questioned
every time at any thread ( i think he said, he had in mind to open a thread, to talk about it, with the proper civilased way)
IMO his status by now sould turned back to normal as its serves no purpose to further punish him keeping him away from the comunity he loves...
