im just confused really, brazzo has a EU passport, or so it says

The only player we bought out of Italy, without an EU passport, is Martin Caceres, no-one else.

So i don't understand what do they mean by releasing a non-EU player to open up a spot. When you buy the players, by non-EU they only count those brought to the team from out of Italy, that don't have an eu-passport.
But what do they mean by a non-EU when we're releasing the players?

Again only those who were bought as non-EU players or all those without an EU-passport?

The second option, I think. This rule apparently was made to preserve Serie A from becoming "non-EU" too quickly, so if we relase another non-EU player abroad, then we can sign two of them instead of one. In either case, we increase the total number of non-EU players in Serie A only by one.

1. We bought Almiron, who doesn't hold an EU passport, from an Italian team, and that's why he doesn't count as a non-EU player in our books.

2. But lets say we sell him now. He still doesn't hold an EU passport, but he didn't take a non-EU spot when we signed him.
So if we sell him will we open up a non-EU spot or not?

If you are bought from an Italian team, you do not take up a non-EU space in the team, no time limit

Only those non-EU players that were bought outside of Italy. Caceres & Sali (unless he holds German citizenship) are the only ones I can think of right now.

Yeah, that would be logical.

The exception is releasing non-EU player as a free agent, so he can sign for another Serie A team... That frees a spot too, but I guess he's again counted as a non-EU acquisition for his new Serie A club, becase he isn't bought directly from a Serie A club.

bamba isn't a first team player or is he?
i think it only counts for first team players or not?

but if he is a first team player and takes that spot send him back to the primavera because he isn't needed this year

There used to be a limit of 3 non-eu players on the field at any one time, right. And 5 in total in the squad. used to get around it using fake passports though if I'm not mistaken. But now there is no limit which isn't a good idea in my opinion. Makes it too easy for teams to play all non-eu players. If Caceres does count as a signing, then we could still get Rafinha right now if we offload Amauri before he gets his Italian papers (but that's not happening).
