Ah, VDV was a player I've always liked and would've loved to have at Juventus. It is sad to see him leave for another team. I dont think this is a wise career move either on his part.

No, one of the most exciting young players in Europe wasting some of his best years in the Bundesliga where he won't even be playing in the CL (probably).

Its not the end of the world for him. It was a good move for him actually, considering the shitty form that he's been in, in the past year. If he turns out to be really good as people make him out to be, then big clubs will most probably make a bid for him. Ronaldinho is a perfect example when he joined PSG.

Van Buyten is nothing special imo. Overrated player.

VDV is one of the most talented players in Holland and IMO HSV isn't a good place for him considering that Robben was his sub at Euro2004 and now he's playing for Chelsea.
about Ronaldinho,I think France is a good place for brasilian players.many of them start playing in Europe with playing in La Championet.there are much more talents there than Bundesliga.

Well, its not like German league is bad. Budesliga is even more competitive than La Championet. Plus you never know what will happen in Bundesliga. If Kaiserlautern can get promoted from german lower division to their first level and win the league, then why cant Hamburg do it?

This was arguably the smartest move he could make. He's coming off a disappointing season so he's going to a mid-table team in one of Europe's strongest leagues to seize his new opportunity. For god's sake, he's 22! He's got YEARS ahead of him. Two good hears at HSV and he'll be moving to a major club WELL before he reaches the age when most football players reach their peak.

At a big club he would never have succeeded at this point in time. This way, he's going strong. Remember: he has had so much hardship to deal with (injuries, failing coach, the burden of carrying a squad at a young age) that it's a very good move for him to check out a 'quiet' squad first so he can develop in peace for a change.
