I just don't have a good feeling about Rafa. I am a bit torn though, at the moment. A part of me just wants a new coach as I can't stand to see the one(s) we have now but the other part its apprehensive about Rafa.

I cant see how we will get Rafa, why would he want to join us? He's got much less of a chance in italy with this team than he has in england with liverpool

We've made it to the third qualifying round of Europa, like Roma did last season, and they played their first game on the 30 July 2009.

It's going to be tough for a lot of our players if they're going to the World Cup as well and we make it far in two competitions. No waffling about this summer please whoever our coach is. Džeko would be perfect thanks to Bosnia failing.

Simply not true. Juve has a much greater chance of winning silwerware.

The main differences are the secure ownership we have in Juve. This means stable environmen, guranteed funds. Liverpool owners have declared thay they want to sell, but this might take up to two years and it is possible that noone wants to pay the asking price.

In relation to the ownership situation, there is the economic situation. In poll Benitez has been asked to perform balanced transfers the last 18 months. That would not be the case in juve.

Squad wise they are very equal. We have a core of :

Buffon, Chiellini, Marchisio, Melo, Giovinco, Diego

They have Reina, Gerrard, Torres and Masch, Johnson

You could add Skrtel, Kuyt and Agger, but we also have Sissoko, Candreva, Iaquinta. Truth be told, they prob have an advantage on the core players, but they also have a harder time keepin them I think. For both teams they have good core, but needs a lot to be done.

Unless Liverpool gets a sheik or oil magnet, they will not have the funds to win silverware in the future. Juve will.

Dressing room unrest. He seems to be on collision course with some of the players. With even Gerrard showing his displeasure.

Liverpool (like us) have quite a way to go to be really competetive. I think as things are right now, we are able to get there faster. :bigscarf:

what a start to our season, being eliminated in the EL preliminarys..

Decrease the number of friendlies and we should be fine

I wouldn't be too concerned. Italy will play 4 games max IMO.
Good point. :D Buffon is a goalkeeper, Chiellini is a CB which doesn't require major effort. Iaquinta, I can't say I care much about a bench player. Marchisio meh. Felipe Melo is probably the one in danger. The oldies/crappies should be gone.

The rest of our team is too old/rubbish.

Rafael Benitez has today spoken of his desire to remain as Liverpool manager and insisted that "no-one" at the club wants to sell Fernando Torres or Steven Gerrard.

The boss revealed he has held positive talks with Chairman Martin Broughton and will hold another meeting with the Reds chief next week.

"I had a meeting with the chairman and it was positive," Benitez told his post match press conference at Hull City. "We will have another one this week and we will talk about the future again.

"I have shown my commitment for years, and if I stay I am not thinking about selling Gerrard or Torres. I do not want to sell them.

"The stability of the club is important because we need to move forward, we will have another meeting and hopefully we can progress."

He added: "Nobody wants to sell them (Gerrard and Torres). I think the Chairman was very clear."

Asked if he wanted to remain as Liverpool manager, Benitez said: "Yes, it is always the same situation. I have wanted to stay and I would like to stay."
