Dear God, Secco running transfers per Benitez's instructions...that's like my worst Juve nightmare.

Because he buys a lot of players and a lot of crap players to boot.
Yeah but what about Mascherano, Xavi (Sissoko), Fabio Aurelio, Arbeloa, Torres. He changed 90% of Houllier's team and yet he managed to compete in EPL and CL.

Yes...one good player a season, plus 10 completely useless players.

why you guys are complaining this much about Benitez' transfers ?
Because it's the most parroted topic surrounding the manager. Most of the time people tend to overrate the severity of the issue when in fact most of the large purchases have been a success and the failures have been limited capital expenditure.

The ones that haven't gone so well:

- Alberto Aquilani (£20m)
- Robbie Keane (£19.3m)
- Djibril Cisse (£14.5m)
- Ryan Babel (£11m)
- Albert Riera (£8m)
- Andrea Dossena (£7m)
- Jermaine Pennant (£6.7m)
- Craig Bellamy (£6m)
- Mark Gonzalez (£4.5m)

The ones that have:

- Fernando Torres (£20.2m)
- Javier Mascherano (£17m)
- Xabi Alonso (£10.7m)
- Dirk Kuyt (£9m)
- Martin Skrtel (£6.5m)
- Pepe Reina (£6m)
- Luis Garcia (£6m)
- Yossi Benayoun (£5m)

Doesn't tell the whole story as there have been many smaller transfers in and out who you can't say did particularly well or badly, perhaps the same for some I listed.

Rafa is a God compared to our staff and transfers we had in the past 4 years. I don't know why you make such a big deal out of it...Like we have fused Porto's, Udinese's and Lyon's staff here, getting amazing players.

FIFTY SIX players bought and sold? FIFTY SIX? and look at some of the fees paid! even Secco is not that bad.
