I voted yes because I think we can have Bettega or someone else manage the signings better than he alone -- leaving him to focus on some of the things he does best tactically.

Maybe he's far from an EPL winner, but otherwise he's done a lot more in the CL than we've seen in a long time.
He was close to winning the EPL last season.

The only difference between Liverpool and United last season was depth. Liverpool went through a period of iirc 6 games without a win in the start of the calender year and that was largely due to the absence of Alonso and Torres that Liverpool could not cope with.

:agree:

I also believe that the main reason Liverpool are having a bad season, is because they fail to buy an adequate replacement for Xavi Alonso.(or maybe they did, we won't know until Aqualani is fully fit)

Yes but that, as Boz pointed out earlier is completely Rafa's fault.
Yes it was. A ridiculous choice to buy an injured player to replace a pivotal one in your team. But who knows man, his crazy prediction might come to fruition.:eyebrows:

rafa Benitez is my most despised manager in the game. he is full of hot air, arrogant, and has wasted more $ than any other manager I have known in 20 years of following football. He gets wound up very easily, has major problems admitting that either himself or his team have underperformed, is a whinger and in general is far from pleasant and hardly a tactical genius. Steven gerrard is responsible for Rafa's greatest triumph, not rafa...and even then, they were lucky...he is a lucky manager. but to me, he is scum. and i would smile if I learned tomorrow that he had been hung. The man has no dignity...

It matters to me, Aaron, how a manager or player comes across as a human being...for the same reason I would never call Cristiano Ronaldo a True Great...without doubt he is one of the most talented footballers of his generation, but as a man, he comes across as an arrogant swine, with no class. Its a similar story for rafa, though he is not technically brilliant. But like Ronaldo, he has no class...to me, of course. I am sure there are many hundreds who would dissagree.

How can an opinion be untrue??? There is no unversal measure of Class...so its nonsense to suggest the statement is true or untrue. We are not talking about height here, or something provable...I hate the pigfucker. Always have done, always will.

You missed the "I think" part. I didn't state a fact or even claim to do so.

You hate the pigfucker. I love the pigfucker. He's stubborn and set in his ways, but he's hardly the bag of cunts that Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson are.

Osman...you've lost me with the bear comparisons. Is there a connection between the dull minded but fiercely brutal beasts and Benitez???

No doubt about that. Not sure how Benitez is "scum", but then again this poster uses that word quite frequently so it doesn't really have much meaning anymore.

I don't know about Benitez. He isn't an idiot as many make him out to be, nor is he world class. But I'll tell you what, I'd rather have him instead of Ferrara and especially Ranieri, even though it is quite clear he's lost the plot at Pool.

I think he's become complacent as a coach. He actually thought the squad was strong enough to move on without Xabi. He was wrong and now he knows he's got to sit through the storm. Of course I'm a little miffed that he was unable to see this coming and is being stubborn in his "single striker" mentality.
