It's just replacing one oldie with another in this case. He'd be a rotation and we could use him for 2 years at least. I'd rather do that, than getting some kid who'd warm our bench. Kuyt would take the chance when it's hot most likely, the kid wouldn't. On the other hand, I would get a young striker who'd rape for more than 4 years, somebody to get Trez's place eventually.
Dzeko perhaps?:p He's only just turned 24 last month.

    Somebody like him, yes.

But I'm not sure I'd give so much money on him. It's not like he's not worth it, but I'd rather get 3 new defenders and some wingers. Striker would be the last thing I'd try to find.

It doesn't have to mean anything. We weren't really linked with Melo but we signed him. If we're not linked with some in the newspapers it doesn't have to mean we don't want any.

Vargas is not a type of player I'd get anyway.

I do hope Rafa looks to La Liga for wide players. They have some fantastic wingers playing there. A realistic signing for me would be Santi Cazorla and he is a very good player also.

Exactly, it's not fixing the problem.

I don't think age is a big factor in whether a player takes a chance, nor do I think we'd see our youngsters benched for an eternity. Like you said about a replacement for Trezeguet, we should be prioritizing a young right winger who'd rape for more than 4 years.

    Timing? It's magic, fool! :D

Kuyt would be a better back up player than Iaquinta. I know you'll think I'm just a biased Dutchie, but I'm actually not Kuyt's biggest fan. I have learned to appreciate the useful work he does though.

Kuyt for the right price would give us so much more solidity on the flanks. I love the guys work rate. He's far from the best player to watch, and he's not skillful, but his attitude is priceless and he has the type of never say die attitude that is lost on the Morons playing here at the minute
