He's not a Pirlo replacement, but I kind of like the fact that we're not trying to replace him. I don't think we need him yet, but a player like Naingg might be the future after Pirlo - a pure DM so Marchisio/Pogba and Vidal can have even more freedom to roam forward.
If there's anyone we should be looking at post Pirlo, it's Hernanes. And if we are spending 20m, then we should hold on to it, and bid that and abut more in the latter. Way better deal.

Tbh, I'd like to see a midfield of pogba, Vidal, and Asamoah. Paul has shown he can make the Pirlo passes and we can adapt, he doesn't have to play exactly like Pirlo, I'd actually like to see us play without the ball always going to one player.

Perhaps we're looking to have a different gameplan. I would actually like to see this team with a proper defensive midfielder to cover the defense. Would give us even more room to set up Pogba and Vidal in the sportlight.
How is he needed? We have 5 very good to top class potential CMs in Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Marchisio and Asamoah. We should sign a compelling LWB and have Asa be both the backup CM and LWB option.
always this asamoah argument... right now we have 4 top class CMs for 3 positions because asamoah is our first choice LWB. that´s not enough. the only LWB we might sign looks to be marquinho.
well to be fair he doesn´t have much choice right now ^^. but to me it never looked like he was ever really pushing juve to buy a new one. kolarov looked like a typical marotta bargain and after the price went up we never heard of him again. zuniga seemed to be a conte request but more for the right wing if isla left.
