Yes they are not good enough now, but noone knows in what they could develope if they would play in CL, get a draw or a win here and there and therefor cash in some extra money and improve their teams next season and slowly become more competative ;)

Then every championship in Europe would have one exceedingly rich team, which would become champion every year, which would play CL every year.

It would be like having a pan-European Premier League with no relegation zone!

Maybe. Or seeing they have a chance to participate in a league like CL (and with that putting them on the football map) people will start investing into football even more and surely noone likes only one team winning the league over and over again ... the jealous people will get together and think of a plan to get the crown! :D

You mean it wouldn't be much of a difference then?

The big leagues wouldn't notice that much difference, as the top teams there has enormous income from revenues, merchandise and sponsors. You also have that factor that only one of the top teams will play in the CL, a tiring thing to do.

In many of the small leagues today there's one or two teams dominating completely, the Norwegian league probably being the best example. I really miss the days when playing in the CL meant something more than just an extra few mill. euros in the bank.
