It's a funny story (some might say).
When I was younger, me and my cousin were big fans of the croatian national team, and every player it seemed, was called something with a "wich" at the end. So we, and most of my close friends, thought it was funny to put an "ich" or "wich" at then end of our own last names and we had our own (10-12 year old team). And then they just kindda stayed.
