Fabio Quagliarella hit a magnificent goal against his hometown side in tonight’s 3-0 home win over the Partenopei, but elected not to celebrate.
The 29-year-old explained his decision after the game: “I’ve always had a good rapport with the Napoli fans, so I’ve contained my joy out of respect.”
His strike capped off a superb performance from the whole side: “We gave a great response, because it’s never easy to take to the field knowing that you have to win. We showed maturity and cynicism.”
The Bianconeri continue to keep up the pressure on Milan, with the Rossoneri now just two points clear at the top: “They have great individuality and it’s tough, but we’ll look to remain in the hunt right until the end.”
