This is for only PS2 users and probably only people from the USA or Canada.

My favorite game right now besides FIFA 2004 is Socom U.S. Navy Seals II. This game IMO is the greatest first person shooter game in history, which combines skill along with smarts as you fight as a member of the Navy SEALs, which is an elite Special Force that fights against terrorism among other things. The gameplay is just brilliant, and not enough can be said about playing online! I have been playing Socom online for 4 months now, and I never get tired of it. What you do online is compete as either a SEAL or a terrorist in different types of gameplay. There are about 25 different kinds of maps that include everything from hostage rescue to special demolitions. This game is awesome to play online with friends, as you are able to talk to each other with your headset. I love this game, and I am sure you would love it too if you knew what I was talking about.

Sounds good, though I've never understood how to play FPS games with a gamepad; isn't it a bit difficult to aim?

Nah man, if you are talking about the PS2 Dualshock 2 gamepad, it is easy to get used to after a while. At first the controls might be a little intimidating, but it is probably easier to learn than doing a bicycle kick effectively! The thing about using this type of gamepad for a FPS game is that the motion of the player you are controlling goes usually fluidly with the actions you do on the gamepad. For instance, the trigger for the weapon on the PS2 is the R1 button, and this button is almost like a real trigger, or the R1 button is the closet thing to a trigger. When you are playing Socom with the controller, it is almost like you are actually holding and firing the weapon in your own hands. I have played Rainbow Six games on computer using a keyboard and mouse, and I get a better experiance using the PS2 controller.

Andrea, I don't have Socom BUT I do have Fifa 2004. Anytime you want to play, let me know. My tag line is Jeff2TO. PM me to let me know when a good time is. This weekend is out of the question, I have a bachelor party tonight and tomorrow is Mother's Day.

Hmmm, but I don't think Winning 11 has the rights for players and for teams. Now that must suck! Until FIFA loses the rights to produce the players and teams, I will keep on playing FIFA 2004.

in this socom game, is there an option to mistreat presoners!?
Hell yeah! If you go to a type of map named Escort, you can play as either a SEAL trying to escort the hostages to safety, or, you can play as a terrorist hunting down the SEALS and VIP's. If you are a SEAL, you must protect the VIPs at all costs, or you will lose. If you are a terrorist, you have to prevent the extraction of the VIP's by killing them. Like I said this game is awesome, and it never gets boring.

I mean, as a SEAL, is there an option to abuse prisoners you've caught?

** Hint: turn on CNN for a while :groan:

Well not really, but you can kill the hostages if you so please. But sorry, no abuse of prisoners.

Hmmm, I don't think the SEALs would abuse their prisoners like some other captors.

    Well, we can only hope.

Pistol whipping, biatch slapping, flashbang torture, vulgar spitting are the new features to make the experiance even more enjoyable!

Don't forget stripping them down and putting hoods on them, then making them pretend to have sex with each other... oh and putting them on small boxes and threatening to electrocute them if they fall down.

    Idiots
