    We all know that this sort of stuff will happen in football, but it's up to the refs to put a stop to it. No one else can. Either the ref has to give penalties/free kicks all the time or never. It all has to do with consistency.

    i remember a match against feyenoord where the ref ordered the freekick to be taken thrice and that resulted in a goal.

    the goal made it seem controversial enough but he gave us two yellows for breaching the ten yard rule and that was bloody good referreeing imo.not many refs would have done that but he did and deserves recognition for that.
