The Primavera took a significant step towards the Coppa Italia final after running out 2-0 winners over local rivals Torino in this afternoon’s semi-final first leg contested at Venaria.
Marco Baroni’s side were forced to wait until 11 minutes from time before making their pressure count, with the Granata’s resolve eventually shattered when Matteo Gerbaudo swept home after Andrea Schiavone’s free-kick was parried by Lys Gomis.
With Torino throwing bodies forward in an attempt to salvage something from the affair, Juventus pounced on the counter and earned a penalty after Leo Bonatini was sent tumbling in the area. Schiavone stepped up to drill the ball home and guarantee a two-goal cushion ahead of next Wednesday’s second leg at Chisola.
