that's true but he had a full summer to turn that whore house into his own team, and they are not any better than last season

they obviously have much more going on than a coaching issue. it's still a coaching issue too. he cannot handle that team and club at all
Yeah but if he was brought in during the summer, it would be the beginning of a new, long term project around his philosophy. Instead, he was brought in to a situation to fail, and fans have already turned on him and want him sacked and it's only September. I can't imagine there is any chance he finishes out the season.

They needed to find their Igor Tudor to finish out the season while planning behind the scenes for Amorim.

but I agree their problems are waaaayyyy bigger than just the coach, no matter who it is or when they were brought in. Whoever inevitably takes over him for will probably fail as well.

The starting XI vs Brentford perfectly sums up Manchester United’s failure, from the owners, right down to the players on the pitch.

- Bayinder (backup to a keeper (Onana) who many fans already call the worst starting GK in United history)
- Shaw (has never played a full season in 11 years with the club)
- Maguire (written off as not good enough by 2021, still starting four years later)
- De Ligt (joined in 2024 as his *fourth* club in five years)
- Ugarte (Enrique gave up on him after just four months)
- Bruno Fernandes (considered United's best player but fans generally want him gone)
- Dalot (consensus by 2020 that he wasn’t good enough, yet here we are)
- Dorgu (talented but raw, and United is one of the worst clubs in the world to develop youngsters)
- Cunha and Mbuemo: (both largely overperformed xG last year, yet United still decided to overpay regardless)
- Sesko (another novice thrown into a setup where young players stagnate)

Their squad is being coached by someone out of their depth who doesn't know how to adapt and react to opposition in-game changes and is being kept in the job by a C-Suite who fear losing their own job if he gets sacked, even though they have no issues firing half the United workforce, while sending emails to the remaining half calling them a disgrace. Ultimately owned by a family who are completely indifferent to on-field success so long as revenue remains steady. Then they all wonder what's wrong with the club. Fuck the lot of them. May the circus continue!

Penalty not given for Arsenal legit or not? I don't think I ever sa such decision. I actually expected pen plus red card

What do you think

The Gyokeres one? If he doesn't do the ridiculous swan dive while flicking his head back like he's been sniped and just falls down in a natural way he'll probably get it. There might be a touch but it's hard to see. Certainly nothing to warrant the fall. Refs generally don't like the theatrics, at least in the PL.

I think it was only a matter if Pope touched the ball before he took down Gyokeres. I mean, he did take him down. I'm pretty sure that'd warrant a penalty in Serie A surely, plus a red card.

I see many comments saying 50-50.

I'd probably give it but I think the acting just annoys people. He's built like a brick shithouse as well so it seems more ridiculous, but we know lots of players do it. And he's played in Portugal for two seasons.

When you're running at full speed I don't think people often appreciate how little it takes to knock you over, but he made too much of an unnatural fall, imo.

Yeah I get your point totally. There's just too many divers these days, but truth be told I think the least amount of those are in the PL. Serie A and La Liga are filled with such scams.

But yeah, while we're at it, IF it was a penalty in this case, doesn't it mean a guaranteed red card too? I don't think it's optional in that case.

How about this clear handball by Gabriel ?
In Pope - Gyokeres incident, i saw Pope try to evade Gyokeres leg in the last action after he come forward.

But in this Gabriel's handball, Gabriel definitely got advantage by making his body bigger by extending his arm and block the cross
