I suppose there is, but he strikes me as an international manager, I'm not sure if he really inspires anyone enough to do much in a top club job. Man Utd at some point have to go for the best person they can get. They arguably did that with Mourinho but the other appointments around him were decidedly risky.

It's going to be 20 mil to release him, not the 10 mil some are quoting.

Having him take over now is kind of a d*ck move even for Manchowder. I mean, inheriting crap players and having to play out a whole season with someone else's mistakes doesn't make sense to me. And it won't to him nor Sporting.

And the guy is in the CL now, unlike Man U. There's a lot he could do with Sporting this season that he can't with United.

So I would say a low likelihood he would come on mid-season unless Sporting crashes out of the CL quickly and he's promised a massive winter transfer budget.
