The criticism is warranted. We fucked up in January, and our midfield has been shit for two years now. We got Ronaldo, and instead of providing him with the right supporting cast to finally deliver us a title that has eluded us for 23 years, we failed against a young and inexperienced team. This could've been our year, but we were criminally under-prepared, and the team, players, staff, physios, and the club deserve criticism for that.
Dude, every team in football fucks up in CL bar one each year. While I’d like to win CL as much as anyone, and think we obviously did not give ourselves as good a chance as we could and should have this year, there’s a luck aspect to it as well, and we just haven’t had the lucky breaks and bounces that most CL winners have here and there throughout their winning runs.

I doubt it. They looked far from dominating.

Pool and spurs both should have crashed out in the group stage. While they also got lucky with the comeback etc

Should have? Got lucky? Please. It’s the champions league. Every team faces moments of difficulty, some deal with them and progress, others do not. It’s as simple as that.

When comebacks and close victories happen again and again, it’s not luck.

Oh, I agree with you. Zach is being ridiculous. Even if we beat Ajax, I don’t think we were good enough, fit enough, or motivated enough (which is pathetic) to beat Spurs and then Pool this year.

All the same, no reason to overdo the criticism of the club.
We would be definately be full motivation in the final

and spurs. We've faced them and it be tricky, but we would have kept compact and hit them on precise counters with all that space

No sorry. When Barcelona went out, and seeing how ajax toyed with spurs for 150 minutes... This is one CL we will deeply regred for much longer than the previous ones

its not ridiculous. We were controlling ajax in their home, they got ridiculously lucky with the equaliser, we wasted chances and even had a penalty denied and a shot on the post and various scrambles.

We simply tossed it at home with an atrocious midfield performance. Can we blame the midfield ? Well it is so imbalanced it requires everyone playing at 105% for it to sortha keep up (like against athletico)

We deeply fucked up in the ajax return. Shame shame shame

Fine lines in the CL, had Costa scored in Ajax instead of hitting the post then things may have been different but who knows. One thing for sure is luck is important but you make your own luck. I think we could beat City because they choke hard but not Pool or Spurs this year.

Spurs showed up Ajax to be defensively naive and rode their luck too as they missed some sitters but let's be fair, Spurs bombarded their penalty area and got their reward. We did nothing to Ajax after they scored.

When our game plan is disrupted we have no balls to change the situation, we have to have a second game to get things right. EPL teams never give up. Sometimes it's that desire over quality.

Sorry Zach, but this is such a BS, we only had one shot in second half of the first leg, and in first leg we were good in the first 20-25 mins, we actually were lucky we only lost by one goal difference.

So no way we gonna regret this year CL, every team in this year Semi would knock us out, maybe not Tottenham but even that is hard to say...

We were simply awful, and people here complain a lot, but this season we simply lacked proper game plan except in a few games...

That is simply depressive selfbashing, and not what the game said

Nobody felt like we didnt controll the first leg and were disappointing to only get a draw considering the game.
Nobody feels like fucking spurs or pool were gonna knock us out when seeing the athletico return

You are simply coping with out loss in the most easy way. Saying we were crap and not good enough so we couldnt do better. Thats a loser attitude. We dropped the fucking ball here. Its our own fault. We have to accept it and deal with it.

Liverpool's aversion to winning their domestic title is akin to our allergic reaction to CL final victories.
and funny thing is that they might still be happy with the situation. yesterday we celebrated my son's birthday and a liverpool fan friend said that he wouldn't mind at all if they didn't win shit this season. all he wanted to see is that the club avoided andy carrol like signings and kept improving year to year, and he certainly got that.
