Not that his decisions effected me in any way from a domestic POV, but he's always been a celebrity ref, bit of an attention-seeking twat, which is the exact opposite you want from a ref. Mike Riley still remains the very worst active, and the likes of Graham Poll were always much the same.

Lincoln City became the first non-league team to beat a Premier League team in a competitive game today, winning 1-0 away in the FA Cup thanks to a 89th minute winner.

We won't talk about the last time it happened with a non-league side and a top flight side (old First Division).... :shifty:

They also became the first non-league side to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Congrats to them.

He's nothing more than a caricature, has been for several years now. I don't understand why anybody touches him with a barge pole. He reminds me of that twat Robbie Savage towards the end of his career, needed to go around winding up as many people as possible to fuel his ego / soothe his cripplingly-low self-esteem.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/feb/21/sutton-united-wayne-shaw-fa-betting-rules

Sutton United have accepted Wayne Shaw’s resignation after the Football Association and Gambling Commission confirmed they are investigating the reserve goalkeeper for admitting that he knew a betting company was offering odds of 8-1 against him eating a pie on the bench during the club’s 2-0 defeat by Arsenal in the FA Cup.

The FA is considering taking action after Shaw was captured eating a pie towards the end of Monday night’s fifth round tie at Gander Green Lane, with the manager, Paul Doswell, confirming on Tuesday that the 45-year-old had agreed to offer his resignation as a result.

“It’s been very disappointing,” said Doswell. “I woke up this morning to this storm of criticism and it’s something that we have dealt with quickly as a club. Wayne himself has offered his resignation to the chairman and it’s been accepted. There were tears down the phone this afternoon. It’s a very sad end to what was a very good story.”
Absolute legend :D Apparently all his mates went to the bookies and put money on him doing it...

It's pretty funny. But I agree that he has to resign.

Barton's just a sad nasty little man.

You have people like Balotelli who can be cunts on the pitch, but who simply have some issues and are decent people deep down. I don't think Barton is anything of the sort.

If you're too much of a cunt for Rangers (old or new), you are really something.

His six months and dozen games in Scotland were pretty amusing.

Still, I've a lot of time for people who take money from Rangers and Celtic while giving them nothing in return.

Gander Green Lane is 2min drive from my house. And to think I've played on that pitch and facilities. Just thought I'd share that useless bit of information to you all. Now I'm off to bang the missus.
