    ESTADIO DE ALVALADE
    21:00 - 17:00 EST

    Portugal's squad.

    Ricardo;
    Miguel, Meira, Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira;
    Petit, Tiago, Hugo Viana;
    Quaresma, Hugo Almeida, C. Ronaldo.

    Glad to see Hugo Almeida start, Petit and Ronaldo have been on form, Quaresma still looking to prove himself, should be a great match. Forca Portugal!

    European soccer's governing body UEFA is to investigate allegations that Belgium goalkeeper Stijn Stijnen threatened to harm Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo during a Euro 2008 qualifier on Saturday.

    Stijnen was quoted on Monday in Gazet Van Antwerpen, a Belgian regional newspaper, as saying in Dutch: "After two minutes we will normally have to attack Ronaldo so much that he will have to leave the pitch."

    It seems like Portugal's staff have found the perfect formation for the team

    Good result(I'm happy to see Nuno Gomes scoring)
    Nuno Gomes scoring, that must be a joke he sucks please kill him, enough said.

    Looks like I found the perfect formation for the team I had thought about this tactic way before this game, Scolari must be stalking me.

    Hey guys -- this is the Bwin Liga thread. :disagree: If you're looking for the Euro 2008 qualifiers thread:

    because a lot of Portugal NT players play in other leagues...and a few Bwin Liga players play for NTs other than Portugal.

    That said, nice O Classico today. Quaresma was in fine form as ever, including the great assist for the opener. Esualdo Ferreira was a fool to sub him with the match in a dead heat at the end.

    In the early stages it seemed like a lot of Porto and little going the other way. The second half was mostly Benfica looking for the equalizer and monopolizing possession. Miccoli couldn't get it done. Leo couldn't either. Simão had to be the savior, really. But a lot of action at the end.

    MOM was probably Helton, with some incredible, key saves.

    With the 1-1 draw, Porto still up by 1. So the league title is still anyone's.

    Agreed, Benfica should've gotten a penalty, ref made a few calls on Porto that shouldn't have been called, good match.

    It's Jesualdo Ferreira, not Esualdo haha :p

    :agree: Do it. Can you please post Portuguese top goalscorers. Also, can you tell me about rumours of Luisao joining Juve? :)

    :tup:
    Chances of Luisao going to Juventus, in my opinion, are slim because Benfica have signed 2 new strikers for June (Fabio Coentrao & Amuneke) so I think Miccoli will leave :cry:.

    Topscorers:
    1. Simão (Benfica) 10
    2. Hélder Postiga (FC Porto) 9
    3. Liedson (Sporting) 9
    4. Nei (Naval) 9
    5. Roland Linz (Boavista) 9
    6. José Pedro (Belenenses) 8
