Capello makes Real ‘demands’ Tuesday 24 January, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fabio Capello will agree to go to Real Madrid on condition that Ronaldo leaves the Bernabeu, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish daily ‘AS’ continues to persist with claims that the Juve boss will join Los Merengues in the summer and has reported that he has agreed to take charge of Real on the proviso that certain individuals leave the Madrid club.

Reportedly, Ronaldo tops Capello’s blacklist, while the older generation of players including Roberto Carlos, Michel Salgado and Ivan Helguera are also wanted out by Don Fabio.

Capello made similar demands 10 years ago before taking the helm of the Spanish giants and guiding them to a title win in his only year in charge.

Real are said to be reluctant to accede to the departure of Ronaldo, who is still held in high esteem by President Florentino Perez, who also believes it will be politically impossible to allow the star striker to leave - especially if Brazil win the World Cup in the summer.

For his part Capello has continued to respond ironically to suggestions that he will rejoin the European giants.

"Real’s offer isn’t bad," he said yesterday. "If only it were true."

If we wanted to flush this club down the shitter, then we should hire Hitzfeld. The assumption on the poll is that we'll hire a good manager...

...sorry dude, you might not like the guy, but saying he isn't good is wrong.

-won the CL twice
-won the intercontinental cup twice
-won the german championship 6 times
and a few times the german cup

within a period of 10 years, pretty good to me..

Maybe I should clarify my statement. Hitzfeld has his supporters and detractors, but what I can't figure out is how you think he'd do any good for Juve. I mean, I couldn't think of a worse fit...

I don't know, his strictness would be welcome I think.

It would cut Lillian, and Zlatan down to size and make them actually work during the matches or his skinny Swede ass would be on the bench.

Also, I think Mutu would get a better role in the side.

ive always felt that there would be too many ego clashes within the team under hitzfield.didnt bayern suffer from something like that after they won the CL the last time?

i read something about it in an elber interview.he said that is why he chose to leave bayern.

Palermo sack Del Neri

Reuters - 28/01/2006

Battling Samp stifle MilanSerie A outfit Palermo sacked coach Luigi Del Neri following their 3-1 home defeat by Siena on Saturday. The club said they would name his successor on Sunday. The defeat by Siena was the fifth in seven league matches for Palermo, who are 10th in the table having picked up 26 points from 22 games.

Del Neri, 55, sprang to prominence when he guided Chievo Verona to fifth place in their first season in Italy's top flight in 2001-02.

At the end of the 2003-04 campaign he left Chievo to take over from Jose Mourinho at the then European champions Porto but was sacked before the start of the season after falling out with the club's hierarchy.

A brief and unsuccessful stint followed at AS Roma.

Del Neri was one of four coaches last season who tried and failed to impose order on the Roma squad after Fabio Capello's departure to Juventus.

He is the eighth Serie A coach to lose his job this season

BTW, what is ur opinion about the following two young coaches:

1. Roberto Donadoni (of Livorno)
2. Marco Giampaolo (of Ascoli)

Really I like them although I know the need some more experience.
