Nothing besides reception........it's horrible indoors.....atrocious. One of the buildings I can't get any reception in is where I spend most of my day at school.....so it's pretty much useless for me during the weekdays.

I was at my friend's apt today and I had 0 bars out of 3.......none. His 3 year old Nokia had the full 6 or 7 bars. It's really disappointing because I really liked the way it looks. I also thought about the V600, but again, online it was said it has reception problems as well.

I don't have any software installed. And if I did, how can that interfere with reception?

I'm really diappointed I'm going to have to return this phone.......I love the "slow jamz" mp3 ringtone I have. :D Any other non-Motorola phones that have that capability?

All cell phones haves software installed.

Maybe you just got a buggy software installed. Some operators in the states haves crappy software. For more info: www.howardforums.com they can answer all.

You can also update your v300 to a v600. It costs 10-15$.

If you desperatly want a new phone, then id choose SE k700i if i was you, its the best phone out there.

I'll see what the people at that site can do. But , like I said...many people were criticizing Motorola online for poor reception.

YES......this thread is still alive blackmint, be quiet. :p

I'm getting tired of this cell phone ordeal and I'm about to just say screw it.....I don't want a phone.

Alright.......let's see if someone can help me. I'm trying to pick a phone from a1wireless.com for either Cingular or T-Mobile (or if anyone else has tried the other providers and found their signal good, then fine.......oh, and no motorolas until I prove/disprove that it's the phone's fault) that has MP3 ringtone capability and good reception. That's all I ask......don't give a rat's a$$ about a camera, or games, or internal/external antenna......etc....none of that crap concerns me.

No man.......not your fault at all. I mean you didn't lie to me. It DID work fine with you, and other than the reception, I love the phone, especially the MP3 ringtones. I don't blame you at all. :)

And now the bad stuff.

3660:

-Big
-Ugly
-Heavy (130g )
-No FM Radio
-No MP3 player
-Only 12 secs video recording
-bad zoom

7610:

-Big
-Heavy
-No FM Radio
-No stereo sound, only Mono sound. And therefor not good as an MP3-player
-Non IR-port
-The zoom quality is bad.

And beetween E715 and v300. Then i would personly choose the v300. The only thing E715 is superior is the blitz, and videorecording. On all the other aspects, the v300 is better!
actually u can install mp3 player (ultra mp3 player) in 3660 ;)

i've did tht,quality is awesome, i have 12 mp3's nw,all tiesto :D

btw fvck the zoom, camera image quality rox dude ..

and for the screen size of the phone,, it's not bad

I just bought a new cell phone. It's a Motorola V300 Camera phone with service from T-Mobile. Hopefully T-Mobile will be a good provider for my area.

not my type of phone... I'm not too fond of the Motorola brand in general either, though T-Mobile is a good provider.

One of the first GSM carriers in the US.

I'm with T-Mobile too... That way i can send messages to the rest of the world. (though they just raised the international message cost from $0.05 to $0.15 a message :groan: )

PS since you just started with T-Mobile, call them and see if you can still change your phone number to a better one (if you haven't already). The Random ones that they give are usually dull (not that it's that important)..

Sounds like something I could've said last week. :D My experience with T-Mobile has been horrible and my friends with Cingular get better reception than me everywhere we go. I have ordered a V400 and I'm going to try Cingular now.....but there's no going back so I hope that $hit works. :fero:

Cingular's international SMS is $0.20 while the local is $0.10........garbage. :(

I could have told you that... T-mobile reception in NO is pretty good, but everytime i go to BR, i lose my signal. T-Mobile doesn't cover "rural" areas (YET) :p

:D

Yeah good idea Majed.

Anyways you say service is bad in rural areas; I live in sort of a rural area, although heavily populated areas are no more than 10 miles away, and DC is only 50 miles away. I hope they have it covered.

You #%$^%&^%!! :fero: :p

Well.....apparently Cingular does...........so I'm going with them.
Here... This should help you make a choice.. The links take you to BR's coverage areas for your top 3 GSM networks in the USA.

T-Mobile
Cingular
AT&T

From this, I'd say that Cingular is your best bet.
