Paul Pogba helped the France Under-20 side to a 2-0 win over Portugal in last night’s friendly played in Créteil. Pierre Mankowski’s youngsters emerged victorious thanks to first half goals from Lucas Digne and Florian Thauvin.
The remaining 11 Bianconeri on international duty are set to represent their respective countries tonight. Mauricio Isla and Arturo Vidal will be in action for their native Chile against Egypt at 6pm, while Luca Marrone is part of the Italian Under-21 squad to face Germany at 6.30pm.
Over in Western Asia, Martin Caceres is expected to feature as Uruguay lock horns with reigning World Champions Spain in a 7.30pm kick-off in Qatar. Elsewhere, Kwadwo Asamoah will be aiming to book Ghana a place in the African Cup of Nations final when the Black Stars meet Burkino Faso in tonight’s penultimate act.
At 8.30pm, Cesare Prandelli’s Italy - featuring Bianconeri quintet Gigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli, Federico Peluso, Emanuele Giaccherini and Andrea Pirlo – will line up against Holland at the Amsterdam Arena.
Kicking off at the same time are Stephan Lichtsteiner’s Switzerland, who travel to Greece for their friendly at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
