The most reasonable and fair comment i have ever read in these 2 page, although trezgol should be something even lower.

Maybe, but IMO he has scored a lot considering Juve's form and how much he was injured.

Anyways, I cant believe some of you are rating Gilardino higher than Morientes! Sure, Gila has had a good season, but it was his first really good season, while Morientes has been a top player for years and is CL's best scorer!

Reading all the hype about what forwards are coming or going from Juve i would just like to see who Juve fans think is the best.striker associated with Juve.
These are some strikers being linked and those already here, give them a score out of ten (10 being the best). Feel free to add others that have been mentioned

Morientes -IMO 8.5
Trezeguet- 7
Gilardino- 8
Drogba-8
Del Piero-9
Miccoli-8
Mutu-7
Smith-5
Di Vaio- 6.5
Vieri-8
Morientes - Class player. Great finisher, good technically, can run with the ball and pass it better than Trezeguet. I would definitely welcome him to Turin.

Trezeguet - Great finisher, great header, good at getting into goalscoring positions, but not a very complete player on the whole. If we can get 20+ million for him I would sell him.

Gilardino - The hottest striking prospect in Europe imo. He wants to play for us, and after scoring 23 goals in Serie A I see no reason why we shouldn't bring him in. I think he has what it takes to become a world-class striker in the future.

Drogba - He impressed me this season, but I rate Morientes and Gilardino higher than him. He scores goals and is more comfortable on the ball than our current front man Trezeguet, but not my number one target.

Del Piero - The most creative, technical forward we have at the club right now. He struggled with injuries this season but on his day he's a world-class player. If someone offers a really good bid for him I would accept, but DP should stay.

Miccoli - Very promising, a good back-up for ADP. He could be a future Juve and Italy star, so I say keep him. Only Del Piero and Maresca are as creative as him in this current Juve squad, and creativity is a necessity in Serie A nowadays.

Mutu - Great player, but we don't need him. If we didn't have Miccoli, Del Piero, and Di Vaio in our team he could be a fantastic signing, but we do have those players, and at this point in time a target man would be more suiting than a support striker.

Smith - I love his work ethic, tenacious attitude, and fighting spirit. He's a good finisher and good technically as well. For 6m he could be a very good signing, but he seems bound for Manchester.

Di Vaio - A quality player imo. Unfortunately for us he thrives on confidence and has been low on that since coming to Turin. When on form he's a great performer, no doubt about that, but he's more inconsistent than he is consistent. I think we should keep him, but his leaving wouldn't take alot away from the team, especially if we got a replacement like Smith.

Vieri - He's a fantastic footballer, but at 32 he would be a very unnecessary signing, especially with Gilardino, Morientes, and the likes on the market. If we could get him for a good price I wouldn't mind, but he's not needed and won't help us in the long term.

Agree

DisAgree imo, he is too good to be sub, but not that good to be regular at juve, thats why i think we should sell him, or use him in a transfer target...!

Juventus's top score and assist for a forward got 5.5 and Del Piero got a fekin 9.5....only 0.5 away from perfectness.... hardly explain his contribution in the last 2 years

Its because i think a Del Piero in form is one of the worlds best strikers. Trez as a striker is very static and has limited skills. He needs others to make him good.

thats why they played in different position to suit they ability best. Apparently Trezeguet is doing better as a striker than Del Piero as suppoert striker in all these years...

Is individually Del Piero is a far better player than Buffon or Maldini? ;)
No you cant compare them since they play in different positions, im sure you understad that too, so dont try to switch this discussion away from the strikers!

exactly my point.. coz even in strikers there are different kind of position and tactical responsibilities... so we must judge them on how they do their respective jobs .. coz if Trezeguet have Del Piero's ability he would be a suppost striker and not an out and out striker.. vice versa for Del Piero...

all i am saying that your rating is all biased and unconsistent at all.. Trezeguet is far a better player than del Piero this season and his stats surely prove it...

You are talking against yourself with this: "Trezeguet is far a better player than del Piero this season and his stats surely prove it ...", since you just said that they have different positions and tactical responsibilities. Which i can agree on, so then it most be a matter of taste, as a football player I think Del Piero is a much better player than Trez, because he has overally better skills and means more to his team.

As i said.... Trezeguet is far better at doing HIS tactical resposibilities and position COMPARE TO Del Piero when he do is won resposibilitites and position..

i guess this is where our conversation ends coz we have differnt taste indeed. Coz i thot trezeguet 's goals means more to the team then Del Piero's uneffectiveness.... ;)

Del Piero isnt a hitman, so he is not uneffective at all since he does much more than scoring, you cant just count this season since DP has been bad this year, and by the way a player like Del Piero is much more difficult for Juve to replace than a player like Trez.

and that justifies Trezeguet getting a 5.5 and Del Piero get 9.5?

by the way, i think Juventus has the resource to buy any player to be as uneffective as Del Piero this season... he so predictable and underperform that i will be half expecting his shot will missed or blocked evertime people lay him up for a shot ..:(

Yeah i dont think Trez is good enough for a hitman either so that justifies my 5.5 rate.

And i agree that Del Piero hasnt been optimal this season, but he has been a important and fantastic striker for about 10 years now, and i hope and believe he will be good next season.

He was our top scorer thanks to the players behind him. I know you say that his role is so and so, thats why i like players like Del Piero and Miccoli better since their position and role is more difficult than just touch the ball before it enters the net.
