Because there are a lot of improvements to the system in general with the newer ones.

The wifi chipsets are a bit stronger and have a further reach, for one.

No it isn't dude. Its still the same G wireless chipset. Trust me, if they upgraded to an N wireless, I would be going wireless on mine.

Do what I did. Get a 50' Cat 6 cable, drill a couple of holes in the floor, and run the wire through.

Of course, you don't have a wife who was furious with you for doing this to refinished hardwood floors, though.
