Wait, what is M.A.G, and the developers of socom??? and 256 players????

MAG is a multiplayer war game with 256 players online. Players assume various roles/ranks. So one can be the commander that oversees the battlefield and plans strategies, while the other can be a grunt that does the attack on the frontlines. The game looks really ambitious. It will come out Jan 26, 2010

I played the demo But I am a fairly new PS3 owner (7 months, play the games one a time, Uncharted is cheap so will get it).

And read that link, hope they make it work, because that some ambitiously epic

That I agree, they are great. But damn, thats really ambitious, and has just unreal potential for awesomeness. To the point I will regretfully accept they are switching to first person shooter from their 3rd person formula.

I used to play those games nonstop when I was in high school on PS2. Best games ever online, IMO.

my only issue is how can they make it fun? sure playing with that many people is great and all,. but seeing as how PSN is dominated by 12 year old morons that don't exaclty like to cooperate, I fail to see how they can make it fun, when you need team play.

If you think PSN is bad, you should see XBOX Live. You sure you don't have them mixed up? I find the PSN audience far more mature.

There is no new Socom coming out for the PS3. Zipper is way too busy on MAG right now. If there is one coming out, and Slant Six is involved, I will take a pass

If you think PSN is bad, you should see XBOX Live. You sure you don't have them mixed up? I find the PSN audience far more mature.

Nah, I have not played Confrontation. But I'm a huge Socom fan from PS2 and there is a huge cult following of that game.

In fact, I may get back online tonight if I can connect.

Socom II was fucking badass.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune is a must game. A great adventure.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be GOTY.

MAG will be a unique multiplayer FPS.
