Their main concern is probably getting best possible deal for him. Their options limited. Since no sale is possible just move him on so he gets playing time.
Pretty sure they probably preferred the other 3 nameless clubs that were after him according to them (who knows if it's true). But the player prefers another big Italian club to make his mark again.

This is just last season alone and he is coming straight after it to us, or should we just expect him to already be back to his best form and be available at all times.

P.S.: I will forfeit this debate because i just remembered how many back and forths like this we two had on Zaniolo a few summers back, where his two ACL’s and repetitive injuries were no reason for concern back then either.
The only propaganda going on currently is by those trying to say that the fact he is coming from three long injuries last season alone is irrelevant, totally ignoring the fact that the form and fitness of the player is a big question mark going into this season too because of it.

As I said; each case should be looked at individually. That is the only right way to look at it.
You deliberately take last season only because apart from that there are basically no injuries in his career. That's just framing.
Never said Zaniolo would be fit. That's a misinterpretation on your side. I said even 2 ACL aren't necessarily a problem. I've seen that in my own clinic and studies, not read it on transfermarket... There are very little career ending or damaging injuries anymore.

I’m not framing anything, the info is out there for everyone to check and has been posted here by others too, i just considered it irrelevant to my argument what happened before last season when i’ve seen he had three separate long injuries this recent, which are the ones of most importance when going into this season, raising questions marks about the kind of form and fitness he will have so soon after it.
You said "and that's from last season only". Yes, true. But there are basically none further which is important info you're leaving out. Which is what I call framing.
Can't separate those three. Not recovering well may very well (or may not) have caused the one injury after the other. If he has played for 2 months in between for instance, that would be difficult to say. So that might be interesting to look at. But as always, as keyboard warriors, we can not judge it with an incomplete picture. We can only call it a risk.
