When a thread degenerates into a discussion about how much longer it'll last before it's closed, the answer is usually "not long".

Unless, that is, you're River, deliberately trying to get a particular thread closed, in which case we'll ignore you.

It was a good idea originally but once the gossip starts there's no getting back on track. I'm tempted to start up a thread, then close it imediately.. if someone wants to post a pic they can e-mail it to a mod and we can put it on there..

The locked thread idea is a good one: an actual pics only thread - exactly what "Post pictures of your life" should be.
