Actually, it's the standard way of writing results in betting circles, which is why I'm familiar with it. I guess it's much more practical when it comes to club matches, since there's a home and away team. The home team is always written first, and since it's possible to place bets on a team
not losing, it's much easier to write (in the case that I want to be that Man U will NOT win)
