Pfertzel makes groundbreaking revelation

-------------------------------

Calciopoli II could well be on the cards after Livorno's French defender, Marc Pfertzel, stunningly admitted that he was bribed by "unnamed Inter officials", two days prior to the Tuscan club's trip to Milano to take on the title holders.

Inter ran out comfortable 4-1 winners on the night, with the French defender gifting the Nerazzurri a first minute lead after an awkward moment where he wrong footed his custodian Marco Amelia.

Pfertzel spilled the beans on Italian national tv this afternoon, whilst crying and hanging his head in shame.

"I've made mistakes in my life but this one shames me to no end. Never have I done something so utterly dishonorable" said the visibally distraught defender to Raiuno. "I haven't had a minute of sleep for days now..", he added, before breaking into tears in front of a live audience.

"My conscience was killing me, and I could no longer live with this sense of guilt anymore. I don't comprehend what I was thinking when I accepted to be part of this..my devilish side took over"

He then went on to describe what exactly happened on that dreaded night.

"I met them in a restaurant at Bergamo two days before the match, and we agreed on everything. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Who are they ? I can't tell. I fear the lives of my wife and two daughters"

"All I can say is that they're top Inter officials whom happen to be public figures. They were accompanied by a fat middle aged man, they both called him Clemenza.."

"After the four of us had dinner, Clemenza displayed a suitcase packed with cash. I was promised half the money then and the other half after..(he pauses for a couple of seconds as he sheds a tear rolling down on his cheek)..I did what I had to do."

"Ooops", or not.. (AFP)

"As a bonus, I received a free lifetime supply of Pirelli tires" The 25 year old Frenchman concluded.

Luca Pancalli was swarmed by journalists and photographers as he was leaving the FIGC headquarters in Rome, yet the newly appointed FIGC commissioner only made a brief statement, saying "We'll see what we'll do in the coming days."

Inter risk demotion to Serie E if Pfertzel's allegations were to be proven in Sports tribunals while Pfertzel may well be handed a life long ban from the game. That, and being forced to live with Spinelli for a year. It's yet to be known when an inquiry is due to be opened.

Massimo Moratti caterogically denied any wrongdoing on the part of his club, and even went as far as calling Pfertzel "a despicable liar"

Stay tuned as the scandal unfolds..
