they keep bringing up an interview with "kevin etheridge" , whose ass i kicked in badminton today :D
Ahhh, just make sure your buddy Kevin doesn't have you high on his list when he comes back to class brandishing assault rifles. :scared:

but its particularly shocking because these things dont tend to happen in my city, its sort of an upper class suburb compared to the ones surrounding it
Oh, but there's where you are wrong. Because you live there is precisely why this stuff happens. Columbine could have never happened in Richmond or East Oakland, for example.

Have you ever seen old reruns of Michael Moore's TV Nation where they did an experiment based on the theory that all serial killers and mass murderers are described as "He seemed a nice, quiet fellow" by their neighbors?

The had a guy rent a house in an upscale neighborhood for about a month. Then he started to do suspicious things -- smashing things in the house, running around with flashlights on with the lights off, making moaning sounds. None of the neighbors (the neighborhood was caught on camera) lifted so much as a finger.

Then he started digging in his backyard by flashlight after midnight. Then he painted red paint all over a mattress to make it look like blood and left it out on the street for garbage pickup -- neighbors walked by with their dogs, who sniffed it, and kept walking on by.

Then they sent interviewers door to door to ask the neighbors about the guy, and they were all like, "Well, he seemed kind of to himself. I heard something now and then, but he generally seemed nice."

All I'm saying, Sebastian, is watch your back!

ahhh shit man :D

yea i realise that affluent areas are more likely to have serial killers and crazy assholes, but according to the report thats not the case here

they think it wasnt that he went there intending to kill anyone, it was just a spontaneous fight that broke out over his attempt to buy stuff for growing weed (now the drugs of course are common in my type of city)

we just arent really used to having incidents like this, there hasnt even been a fight at our school in 3 years, whereas at my old one there were 3 a day, and that wasn't a ghetto or anything

don't worry, all my neigbors are afraid of me. a 8 yr old came with his twin brothers and went jumping on the trampoline in my backyard when only i was home, without anyone permission. i kindly asked them to leave for liability reasons, i dont mind them using it just they were beign dangerous and if they hurt themselves its my family's ass.

after about 8 polite requests for them to leave, they started finding rocks and throwing them at my bedroom window, and which point i walked out back and screamed for them to "GET THE **** OUT OF MY HOUSE " mixed with a few other nice phrases that dont need to be repeated

since then, the entire street talks shit about me and my family isn't invited to any of the neigborhood gatherings and im looked down upon as some ghetto thug

they also have a problem with my mom and dad's "speeding", because it endangers their children. they asked us to stop going so fast, so both my parents stopped going over 25, and they still send us nasty notices about it and ***** at us. this is when their children jump out of the bushes into the middle of the road, and skateboard downhill around turns :wallbang:

i really hate these stuck up communities :groan:

Exactly...Why should I be liable when someone trespasses my property and drowns in my pool, gets bitten by a dog, or falls head first off a trampoline? he/she has no right to be there in the first place. And as far I am concerned he could be a burgular or someone trying to hurt my family, I think I would have the right of self defence.

well sorry but as far as i'm taught thats not how it is here. growing up all you're told is stories about how criminals break into houses, hurt themselves, and sue the owners and win.

i don't know if its really true, but everyone is definitely paranoid about lawsuits

Sebastian I am not critisizing your behaviour with the twins, I am just merely noting that the equation is reversed IMO. Lawsuits in the US are really getting out of hand.

oh no no, no worries man i get what your saying, and i agree, it is ridiculous

i was just making sure you understood what i meant, because thats the way we're raised to think now. your first priority is to make sure bad shit doesnt happen on your property pretty much, at least as ive been taught

I understand all that, its not like that the American culture is totally alien to me...I lived in the states for a couple of years back in the 80's...and visited a lot...pre 9-11 that is.

that type of thing didn't really change after 9/11. its so strange, at the time 9 11 happened i never realized how much it was going to affect my future

Quite honestly I don't think there is much of threat in the USA. Of course there is always a threat, but not in the way Bush, his goons, and the media would like you to think.

oh i know, i don't feel "threatened" or nervous about terrorist attacks at all. i just know that the general public seems to. but then of course, the general public around here, at least at my age level, tends to not know the difference between romania and south africa

Take a shot at mine:D

As far as I am concerned politics is a filthy game, and most if not all governments are corrupt in a way or another.

Now, see, I can agree with that. I know of one local pretty boy:yuck: pol who's never held an honest job in his life---much like a former Pres here.

Our founding fathers intended for politicials to be those that had done well and wanted to give back to society--who would go to Washington for a term or two to pay back their debt. Instead, most of these aholes make a career out of it. Which isn't right.

Having said that, I love my country. My family endured hardships to get here, so that their son(s) could do things like support the greatest calcio team in the world----Juve. I imagine my nonna in Heaven smiling down and shaking his head a bit, but proud that his grandson could "waste his time" following calcio.

Although our government certainly is not free of goons, there is no denying the fact that there is a threat to the United States in terms of future terrorist attacks. I think it would be a little naive to think we are in the all clear because terrorist groups are always planning their next move...now that is not to say we face an imminent threat because as we have seen before planning attacks takes lots of time and money.

But while we deal with terrorists abroad, we must deal with terrorists inside our own borders...a lot of them are money-laundering goons indeed. ;)
