I wonder why guys keep doing that installments counting thing ? Its simply "wrong".

Going by your guys logic, then you must count other previous transfers installments of the past years for next summer too. Do you realize that we still paying installments for Diego, Melo, Amauri, Bonucci, martinez.....

It makes 0 sense really in counting those installments. Once we sign a player for a given fee, it will be written in our books as an expense "that is the whole amount" and not just that year's installment.

We never were big spenders, the only thing that kept us competitive was the competence of our managers, we were robbed of them because we were not powerful and influent enough to support them, so here we are now...

It was expected, i ve been saying this since calciopoli...

We're saying the expense for this summer transfer window though...

If we want, we only have to pay one installment, rather than the full amount.
But no body pays the full amount !! Probably 99.9% of all the major deals in the world (whether in sports, buying a real state or whatever) are paid in installments.

Yet even if we go by your logic, then shouldn't you count other installments that we're paying for next summer ?! Why count Matri, Quagliarella, Aquilani installments only but not Melo, Diego, Krasić, Bonucci, Martínez and others installments that we're going to pay for next summer too ?

Do you see the mess your getting yourself into, once you think with that logic. It simply doesn't work this way.....

Exactly, but it seems its really difficult for people to understand this, people think the installments make it less expensive in some way which it doesnt at all, almost all deals are done that way for all players we have both bought and sold.

I don't think its less cheap, but thankfully we only have to pay an installment rather than the full price this summer transfer window when we are in desperate need for more players to fill in vital spots, like our fullbacks and left winger. I know we'll be paying for it at a later time, but at least we can use some of the extra cash which we saved temporarily and use it towards something else. Its easier to get hold of money throughout the years rather than using it up all at once.

But the point only-juve is making, and he's quite right, is that our past deals were also done in installments, so that next summer we'll not only be paying for the new players, but also for the ones we bought in the past 2-3 years, so it doesnt really free up any more cash for the summer.

You need to look at the total amount of the transfer fee in relation to our transfer budget, not just the one installment.

Buys and sales in numbers after Calciopoli (excluding primavera purchases)

2006/07
Players bought for: 11.0m eur
Players sold for: 84.3m eur
Total: +73.3m eur

2007/08
Players bought for: 63.25m eur
Players sold for: 28.525m eur
Total: - 34.725m eur

2008/09
Players bought for: 39.03m eur
Players sold for: 25.67m eur
Total: - 13.36m eur

2009/10
Players bought for: 54.7m eur
Players sold for: 17.8m eur
Total: -36.9m eur

2010/2011:
Players bought for: 59.35m eur (could rise to 109.35 if we buy Quagliarella, Matri, Pepe and Aquilani)
Players sold for: 39.175
Total: -20.175m eur (could rise to -70.175 if we buy Quagliarella, Matri, Pepe and Aquilani)
---------------

In other words (assuming we'll buy Quagliarella, Matri, Pepe and Aquilani) we actually PAID 81.86 MILLION EURO to go from this:
Buffon
Zebina-Thuram-Cannavaro-Zambrotta
Camoranesi-Emerson-Vieira-Nedved
Ibrahimovic/Del Piero-Trezeguet

to this:

Buffon
Grygera-Bonucci-Chiellini-De Ceglie
Krasic-Melo-Aquilani-Marchisio
Matri-Quagliarella

Or if we don't excersise our right to buy Matri, Quag, Pepe and Aquilani we paid 31.86m eur to go from the scudetto winning 2006 team to this team:
Buffon
Grygera-Bonucci-Chiellini-De Ceglie
Krasic-Melo-Marchisio-Martinez
Toni-Del Piero

There are not enough faces nor palms in the world to describe how bad our management since calciopoli had been.

Actually, I think we handled it completely the wrong way. We should have made the whole team stay, all the players, regardless if they wanted to or not, accept the losses we'd made through that year in Serie B, and come back strong the next year in Serie A, and in the CL the year after, I doubt we'd lose more money then we already have by signing bad players, covering their wages and not qualifying for the CL two years in a row.
