CR7 was brought here to help us win the CL. Not win in by himself. So far he has been more than a helping hand in CL games, but we sacrificed midfield to accommodate him and it showed. Maybe the last coach didn't help either... But that's why we have directors that are supposed to see things that mere mortals can't. The moment Ronaldo is a burden(financially or tactically) he will be told in no uncertain terms and at the very least he would have no problem finding a new club.

I think financially we still arent fully mature yet although our results are at times. We have splashed and made big purchases but also sales and its usually at the expense of a well rounded team. I do however think that we are getting there now with Dybala,Arthur,Kulusevski,Bentancur,Rabiot, MDL and Demiral. Now we need to add some key pieces to keep it going and we might have a dominant team for a while and the fan revenue to back it.

Chiesa is decent, and I don't actually like him, but not for the figures touted. Perhaps for 30-40 million he could be worth a punt, but avoid at all costs for 60 million. As for Zaniolo, I'm all in. I think a front 3 of Kulu, Dybala and Zaniolo is the way to go post Ronaldo.

Stats aren't everything my friend. If you score 2 hat-tricks, and then a brace, but disappear in the remaining 30 or so games, that doesn't make you a great player. Kulu has been consistent in terms of performances, and he'd have probably had more assists had his teammates not been horrendous at converting all those chances. Gervinho alone is a master at spurning easy opportunities.
