How tall is Dries Mertens when he scored over 30 goals as a #9?
WoW

Just because they are both short doesn't mean they are the same - Dybala and Mertens are different players / Dybala is more of a 10 - he can slot as an SS / AM, he is no poacher like Mertens - Mertens is also much faster but not as creative - apples and oranges.

Your point was that Sarri needed a bigger #9 to play in a 4-3-3, not whether Mertens and Dybala are the same player. And you are right. They are not the same player. Mertens wishes he had the natural skill of Dybala.

Mertens used to play as a winger in Sarri's 433 until Higuain left/ something Dybala can't do due to his pace and characteristics - Allegri tried last year and it didn't work.

One of the things Napoli relied on when Mertens was switched to the main striker was the pace of the front three and Mertens finishing skills / in both Mertens is much superior.

Again Dybala can't/ shouldn't be played as a striker - also don't forget the CR7 factor which is actually why we're going after a big guy - he needs to drag defenders and open space for CR7 on the crosses and set pieces - we can't play the same way Napoli did with Callejon / Insigne and Mertens with Dybala up top.

Is that sarcasm?

How does he fit?

Sarri plays 433 with a big number 9, a regista and two central mids - where do you see Dybala in that??

And don't get me wrong i am all for him staying, in fact I don't care if Sarri gets the players he needs or not - Sarri should be a temp option until someone like Klopp or Zidane are free - till then he shouldn't be allowed to destroy the team as hs will still fail in Europe.

My dream to play at Juve isn't dead

So Paratici will still pull off a masterpiece by selling this guy for less than €60m to PSG. Just wait and see.
Sell Dybalol for 55mil

Sign Darman aka Fr3sh from Iqaluit FC, for a small fee of 5mil to be paid to his agent (fr3sh himself).

50mil plusvalenza
