In the same interview, max also talked him up as a mezzala, which if you look at de bruyne and how many assists and goals he gets could be model

ive only seen the synopsis but in max's research paper he talks about his ideal midfield 3 of a regista (4), an 8 and a 10

So Neymar didn't believe in Barcelona's project? Of course it's not all about money, but it's not all about "the project" too. And there's many other nuances too. But money is a big factor (if not the biggest) factor. I only see Messi and Ronaldo as unbuyable players in todays game.
I am not too sure Neymar left for money you know. I think a lot of it was down to not wanting to be under Messi's shadow. Neymar deserves to lead the charge so he can develop, and not be somebody else's lackey. He was already stinking rich at Barcelona anyway.

That's my point. It's down to more than believing and salary, but salary is still a huge factor.

Edit - Actually, it's byr far the biggest. He was stinking rich, but still got a ridicolous high raise even though his new club broke the transfer record by miles. Projects indeed counts:

Regardless, Neymar now quadruples his take-home pay for his work on the pitch. Last season he made $15 million in salary and bonus from Barca. Combined with the $22 million he made in endorsements from the likes of Nike, Gillette, and Panasonic among others, he ranked No. 3 among the world’s highest paid soccer players with total earnings of $37 million last year.

Now this move could see his total earnings skyrocket to $93 million, and could propel him ahead of teammate and record 5-time FIFA player of the year Lionel Messi, who earned $80 million last season, and possibly ahead of reigning and 4-time player of the year Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo who earned $93 million in the top spot among the sport’s highest paid. He could also leapfrog into the top 5 world’s highest paid athletes with Ronaldo and the NBA’s LeBron James, right behind Floyd Mayweather and Connor McGregor, who each stand to bank an obscene 9-figure amount from their August 26 spectacle.

He made some surprisingly positive comments about Dybala's future but I'm sure the tune will be changed once summer 2019 approaches(can't miss out on that commission :baus:)

I think we'll keep him for one more year.

Marotta: “If Dybala will be a symbol also in the next years? This is what we are going to do, we have invested in him a huge figure. We would like to continue this great experience with him.”

Dybala is more capable at creating a moment of magic to score a goal out of nowhere. But he is nowhere near as consistent as Salah who has been scoring and assisting regularly since his Fiorentina loan and progressively getting better and doing more since then.

Dybala's output is limited by Juve's style compared to Roma & liverpool's. But until he shows that consistency in our colors or some other team's, we are talking about his potential while Salah, has and is consistently delivering and improving for a number of years now. Try to point to a period for dybala that is as good or better than current salah form and you will see the difficulty.

The reason we see Dybala as better because in his flashes of magic we see the potential for real genius (and the fact that he is a Juve player and we are Juve fans) while salah's goals and assists are regular and not as flashy.

Its sad but true. Our boi hasnt shown consistency like Salah and never hit a long patch of super high form like the one Salah is having now.

Our boi hasnt done shit for argentina too while Salah is da main man for Egypt and took us to the Worldcup for the first time in decades.

If there was a 25 year old brazilian or argentinian player in Serie A with Salah's stats for the last 2 seasons and then makes a move to the EPL and does what Salah is doing in the EPL right now, people would be freaking out and making comparisons with great players.

There exists the possibility that Dybala would also be scoring goals hand over fist in Klopp's setup at Liverpool.

Which I did say in my comment. Salah played for Roma & Liverpool both of which are very attacking teams. Until Dybala starts doing similar in our team or in different colors or at least with his national team, you are talking about potential and not actuality. In actuality and actual performances delivered thus far, Salah has done more than our boi

I can't really argue that to be honest.
