Roma never offered 38m, come on, they arent offering that for Mahrez they are dying to have. But offer that for Schick who not just us but now Inter too backed out of paying substantialtransfer fee for due to being jumpy about his health? Nah, that offer never happend, Monchi isnt in the game of giving away negotiation advantage and over paying for no reason. Samp are desperate to sell Schick right now, not the reverse.

Why Samp is desperate in your opinion? If the reason is the heart I say fock this deal.

There are still clearly question marks or he would directly been sold already. They are desperate most likely because even if the player is healthy or might become healthy down the line, he is ADAMANT he wants to leave, and since there is question mark on his healt his market value is just decreasing. So they are better off making a binding deal now, wether its to sell, or a loan with OBLIGATION fee, but they are so far offered only optional ones, from us last month and Inter just recently.

Thats why I find this rumour of Roma bogus, at best I would think Roma are also offering a loan, with a fee like that spread over couple years in case he works out.

Samp really have no negotiation power right now.

Roma 'bid €38m for Schick’, but..
By Football Italia staff

Roma have reportedly bid €38m for Patrik Schick but face competition from Inter, Paris Saint-Germain – and Juventus.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims the bid came in “a matter of hours ago” and could possibly be structured as a two-year loan with a compulsory purchase option in 2019.

However, the transfer guru  warns the striker “has doubts and has not yet accepted” such a proposal.

Inter, meanwhile, have offered €35m for the Sampdoria starlet but would prefer a season-long loan with an option to buy for the fee mentioned next summer.

Out of the left field would be Juve reigniting their interest in Schick, having already pulled the plug on a €30m transfer due to heart problems being detected in his medical.

The 21-year-old has since been given a clean bill of health, prompting the Bianconeri to reach out to his representatives, but Samp would be demanding an official offer by the end of Monday.

That takes Di Marzio to PSG, who “would be willing to put forward a concrete proposal”, while the attacker “would gladly move to France.”

Why? Because he can now be sold for much more than his "release clause" and the fact the kid might have future heart problems...if they can make a ton now, why risk not being able to sell him at all PLUS they won't minimize their transfer fee with a release clause.

I'm not sure if I understand your point. Currently, nobody is willing to pay 25mln upfront as the release clause stood. Maybe PSG would pay since they don't care anyway. The question is whether the player wants to go there but there is nothing money cannot change.

He was hyped, easily worth more than 25m as a hyped youngster doing quite well with the Ibra comparisons. If you are a club that owns a player that could potentially be unsellable because of a heart problem, wouldn't you want to maximize your sale while you can? They can easily make more than what his previous release clause was.

Appears over in getting him unless you have to pay MORE than before. I seem to see posters here who want buys that they think would get Juve a CL title this year. IMO this one isn't one since plenty of scoring options already in place. I like looking down the road too for young talent but this guy is off my radar.
