Haha Yabusele dunks over Lebron and crowd chants MVP.

Can’t believe a bunch of Knicks rejects plus Wemby and Gobert are keeping it close. It really shouldn’t be.
US basketball team never really has a plan they just throw it all together and the vets lead the team, and that's almost always enough because of the quality. By the next Olympics France might be able to take a step up in talent but it would be a huge shock if US didn't win basketball in LA.

I'd put my money on Serbia in 4 years tbh, the US won't have this level of experience and quality in 4 years.

France is only going to get better too. In this year's draft Risacher was 1st pick, Sarr 2nd and 6th pick also is a french player Salaun. Next year's top3 projected pick is Noland Traore. They're loaded with talent that will be ready by 2028 with more experienced Wembanyama as their leader.

No doubt France will be better, the gap between the US and the others will be alot closer in 4 years. I have a soft spot for Jokic though, I like to think in 4 years time he'll have his moment.

I'll never forget the 2008 Gold Medal match between USA and Spain. Probably one of the greatest games of basketball ever. Kobe was so clutch in that final quarter.

The gap between the USA basketball team and the rest is getting smaller, but it's still there.
I still vividly remember the 1992 Gold medal match. My team, Croatia, made it to the final. That was an amazing Croatian team with three future NBA hall of famers. But they knew and played basketball as it was played in Europe. When they faced the Dream Team with Jordan, Magic, Barkley, Drexler, Bird, Ewing, D. Robinson, Malone, Stockton and Pippen, it felt like playing against superior species from another planet. A 32-points defeat in the final (at one point CRO even had a 25:23 lead) almost felt like a win, because the Americans were beating the others by 50-70 points.

Now that the Europeans go to the NBA in numbers, the gap is much much much smaller.

Look, I'm impressed that when the Adelaide b-girl didn't show on the plane to Paris, the Australian Olympic Committee got a Qantas baggage handler to stand in at the last minute like that.

I caught that breaking event yesterday (they also call it b-boying, b-girling or breakdancing) and I don't think that I will ever understand why did they introduce this "sport" at the Olympics.
I'm still stuck on synchronized swimming. So no, not there yet.

Incredibly stupid. However, I hope they bring back poetry.
People forget all the Olympic medals they gave out for architecture, music, literature, sculpture, and painting from 1912-1948.

Why do I get the feeling if China does finish above the USA in the medals ranking, Trump will use that narative in his rallies and blame the Democrats for this travesty.
That's got to be at least a 50/50 bet on Polymarket.

This despite the Olympics being proclaimed too woke this year.

There's no test proving she's anything other than a woman.

But it is funny that people were making the argument she wouldn't have an advantage, because of poor results in the past and now she has a gold medal.
I am not a fan of using success at an event as the primary indicator of cheating. Too easy, too conditional, and lets a lot of cheaters off the hook.

And we wonder why all the female Tuz posters have been chased away.

But that was the plan. Grant Hill basically wanted to reset after the FIBA World Cup failures and start over by building a team around James, Curry, and KD.

I forgot if he won a medal for rape that year.

Yep, one of the most fun moments in basketball history. He is so unreal skill wise, most unguardable offensive weapon in history when he gets going. Like a kid having fun out there.
