According to Italian sports daily 'Tuttosport', Juventus are very close to sign Daniel Piatti from Estudiantes - a player who's been compared to Lionel Messi.

The Old Lady has been advised by none other than Nestor Sivori, the son of the great Omar Sivori, to sign up-and-coming Argentinean star Daniel Piatti.

The 18-year-old is currently playing for Estudiantes and he might be a surprise purchase of the Bianconeri this summer in order to add some missing creativity to the side.

Coach claudio Ranieri might not be fully convinced as of yet since he has always stated that he does not see a 'trequartista' in his first eleven, which led to the exclusion of Rafael Van der Vaart and Diego from their shortlist.

However, Piatti declared that he is a versatile player and ready to play in any position.

"I like to play as an assist-man, but I can adapt myself to any role," confirmed the midfielder.

The sentence that disappointed me most in that article:

"Coach claudio Ranieri might not be fully convinced as of yet since he has always stated that he does not see a 'trequartista' in his first eleven, which led to the exclusion of Rafael Van der Vaart and Diego from their shortlist."

Retard :disagree:

Is he the new Messi the same way Meghnin was the new Zidane?

I don't know the guy but most of the times an upcoming player is named "new smth" by the media, turns out to be a major bust.

I never saw him play and I guess some of you didn't either so let's not get mad for nothing if we don't get him. He's smaller than Giovinco and both play the same position.

would be nice to have a guy with great feet and a good physique à la Kakà for the Serie A. I was impressed with Renato Augusto last year but didn't hear from him lately.

We should bring him since he is still unknown (by European Clubs) and would be a gamble but it might be worth it. I am convinced that Giovinco is our future but i also expect someone to be able to replace him if he is injured or if he is having a bad match (an Impact player)
