Melo, Krasic, IQ, Motta(still being loaned), Ziegler....who else?

Its annoying. Take Motta for example, he is still our player just loaned. Why can't we sell ffs? :sergio:
Because everyone knows that we don't need/want these players anymore, so why should they pay for something we clearly want to offload? Paying them their wages is enough.

So its just easier to keep then?

IF we loan, their value decreases further.

If we keep and don't play...same as above and we pay their wages.

If we sell, even for a fraction of what we paid, we cut their wages from the books and make a little bit of something. Makes sense to sell.

There could be even more to that.

One possibility, after a successful loan spell, could be a rise in the player's worth. Another advantage is having some assets which we don't really need for our team, so we can loan them to a club we need to return a favor or open a negotiation later on.

Makes sense to sell, but to teams it doesn't make sense to buy.

If we now drop Motta's price to 0.5m eur, why would Bologna buy him and pay his wages instead of just pay his wages by loaning him? They'd do it if Motta agrees to lower his wages, but then why would Motta cut his wages? He's fine with what he gets from his contract with Juve. He doesn't want to sign a new contract which will earn him less money.
We sure want to sell, but noone wants to buy.

and this ladies and gentlemen, in short words is why our mercato is pretty much fucked. This is a good sumary of why we have so many problems selling players.

We buy inflated players, then bench them obviously because they suck...and then we cannot find any buyer, hence, we need to stick with them until the contract explodes....sadly this guys are on heavy wages with a lot of years ledt in the contract.

So yeh, lets better shelve them in the freezer and with pain in our hearts, forget this ever happened and start from scratch to prevent this kind of deals to happen again.

This all happen because of this points:
1-Buying without much thought behind the operation
2-Giving stupid contracts to unproven players, or players who dont deserve it.
