On a serious note, that's not a bad team at all. Birindelli, Tudor, Kovac, Pessotto and Chiellini are all capable defenders and the front line is as good as any in the league if you ignore Milan, Inter and Roma. Fiorentina come close with Bojinov and Toni but even so Zalayeta, Del Piero and Mutu are fine players. The midfield is a bit of a let down but Olivera, Blasi and Giannichedda are all good enough to play regularly for most of the teams in Serie A. With a bit of luck this team could finish in the top five. They'd definitely be in the top seven otherwise.

I was serious,really..that's not a bad team..I mean it's better than last year's udinese..anyway we can't prove this.it's just an imagination :D

The "not even close" remark was more closely directed to your statement about Olivera being "too weak for Serie A." Sure he isn't good enough for Juventus but he is good enough for teams below the top five, no doubt. Hell he would have even come in handy for Udinese last season. Then considering this topic has nothing to do with "squad depth" because it's already our "second squad," yes, you were not very close with your assessment.

Very weak midfield, the team will draw more than win...I say we will get around 7th or 8th position.

Olivera - Giannichedda - Blasi - Mutu

Del Piero - Zalayeta

Just with a litle switching of Mutu, the midfield doesen't look so bad as it did. Blasi last year started for Juventus, Giannicheda for Lazio and was one of the best man there, and Mutu would walk in 99% of the teams in the world even after being out of play for so long. Olivera may not be the best player their is, but his flashes of briliance are showing that he has great potential if we compare it to lets say aquillani he is for me the superiour player
And the attack would still be deadly with Mutu playing in midfield because Zala and DP are very good forwards

Well if you think that this team can battle for a UEFA CUP post, I think they can win Coppa Italia. Balzaretti can play RB or LB? The team at Coppa Italia will look like this:

Chimenti/Abbiati(when Buffon recovers)
Pessotto/Balzaretti - Gladstone - Kovac - Chiellini

Blasi - Gianicheda - Olivera

Mutu - Zalayeta - Del Piero

I think this team can win Coppa Italia, I`m only affraid about the performances of Chimenti, Gladstone and Olivera.

Balza can play both LB/Rb, even though I prefer him to be RB.
The main problem is the midfield. We would give too many balls away.
But the team should be able to have a qualification for UEFA Cup and a Coppa win
