Milan sign Emerson – official
Tuesday 21 August, 2007
The Emerson transfer saga is over after Milan announced his capture from Real Madrid this evening.

Reports in Italy gathered pace this afternoon that the Brazilian was on the verge of joining the European champions and that has proved to be reality.

“Milan communicate that they have signed Emerson from Real Madrid on a permanent basis,” read a short note on the Rossoneri’s website.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani flew out to Madrid earlier today to complete the deal after weeks of talks.

It’s understood that the veteran has signed a two-year deal at the San Siro after Real accepted a fee of around £3.7m.

And Milan just keeps buying 30+ players.
Didn't pay much for him though seeing we got +/- 16MEuro for him last season.

In all of this people seem to forget one thing:

MILAN DO NOT NEED EMERSON!
Disagree, their mdifield could use a new midfielder, if Gatusso gets injured, Ambrosini is the only backup they have and I rate Emerson higher then him.
They only had: Pirlo, Gatusso, Kaka, Seedorf, Ambrosini and Gourcouff as midfielders, they could use the reinforcements.

Brocchi and Ba are good enough to come on when they are leading a match with 3-0 or so.

Of course they do, Milan's squad characteristics is depth and experience. Emerson is the right answer. This doesn't mean Emerson is not a mercenary.

Very good signing for Milan, he will give them depth and addiotinal quality. He is a mercenary but he is not overrated at all. He was excellent for Juventus.

Do you guys think he will be a starter for Milan?

i dont think so, but he will get a lot of game time and could start in more games than ppl expect. Cause ancelotti likes to rotate his squad and i think he will stop now
