In other reports, rumours going around that girls in hijab was harassed in Oslo today, and a Pakistani kid apparently dragged out of a bus and beaten up.

Don't know if there is any truth in it.

I hope that it's rumours of the kind that always surface when things like this happen which are often fake. It would be terrible if people take out their hatred on a minority, just because they belong to the same religion as some extremist.

At this point, I wouldn't exclude this being an act of domestic terrorism and unrelated to any islamic extremist groups, even though it is tempting to think otherwise. Those tweets might be just an attempt to take credit and advantage of a already existing situation to send a canned message and instill fear.
Chances are it will turn out to be international terrorism but still, something to keep in mind, I guess.

Hopefully the number of the victims will be limited and this isn't just a sign for things to come.

I'm pretty sure it's domestic a foreigner wouldn't know Utøya or atleast he has done his homework very well. But it could be homegrown terrorist with an islamic background, but I doubt it.

oh, just saw this, so there is that possibility already ... hope it turns out that way ... not that it would make what's already happened any less grave but at least will not lead to social antagonism not only in Norway but Europe altogether and further military action in the Middle East

Yep, it was unprecise of me, definitely aimed at AP (Labor Party). But the reasons he had for doing it might still apply. We'll just have to wait for further developments. In any case, this dude is a complete fucking nutjob, and even though he'll probably say that his motives were political, I'm pretty sure we're dealing with a grade-A psychopath here, driven by nothing but hate. But we'll see.

that doesn't seem like the usual signature of an Al-Qaeda attack, could be evolving their methods though ... I suppose, at this point it looks more like domestic terrorism but would be another day or two before they have solid info with all the chaos going on.

Yeah, and this is obviously not a good thing. But I have to say this: Big thumbs up to the Norwegian media while handling all of this, they haven't prejudged anyone or pin pointed it on islam terrorists. They've kept this very clean, and they have let facts do the talking.
