Not really. You have to understand that this was not an abandoned area or something. Our guys had to cover up for your guys as people ran to the streets when they heard all this shoting and helicopters. US Navy Seals would had to deal with the neighbourhood if they only popped in and did this operation. I also believe it was ISI who pointed out this place but I am not too sure if it really was Osama or another guy on the most wanted list.

ISI took control in that area as soon as the people ran out and had military there so people thought everything was under control. This operation wasn't possible without US-PK co-operation.
What's your source? I mean, if you read this in an article then post it. I'm sure people are interested in reading it.

Reading these pages makes my head spin. A lot of people talking about things they have no clue about. Take it as it is. Osama is dead now, conspiracy BS or not, you all will never know what happened exactly anyways.

I don't even know what you guys are arguing about but what you said reminded me of when a Black-Hawk was shot down by a group of 'villagers' in Mogadishu and were saved by the Pakistani military.
Villagers? I think you mean dozens of militants with RPGs and that was a very different situation.
A Pakistani soldier was wounded in that operation. They weren't exactly operating a taxi in that operation so I don't understand you making light of their involvement.

edit: Just looked it up and there were actually 2 wounded.
It was a mixed Paki/US and some others force supported from the sky by US owned aircraft and helicopters.

They escorted the US troops under fire, apologies if you think I'm belittling the Pakistani role. I'm just telling you what happened. The guy in charge was mad because they were there as UN peacekeepers and were not told of the covert op before it was underway. So he sat on his hands for an entire night. Then made the decision to convoy in a unit of mechanized infantry. Which did ultimately prevent more loss of life on the US side.

1) By dozens, you mean close to 1000.

2) At first it was units consisting of Rangers and Delta Force, until the second helicopter went down, then the UN presence (mostly Pakistani force and the 5th Mountain) came up with a plan of extraction.

1.) I was talking about the militants with RPGs, the ones who could actually take down a helicopter.

2.) I was talking about the extraction team not the initial op.

Ok so I read what Melo wrote and I have no idea what he's talking about. I see he's already becoming one of those 'uncles' (read w/Pakistani accent) that love their conspiracy theories.

If you're gonna call those Somalians militants then you have to call anyone with the intention of shooting down a military helicopter the same thing. No Pakistani villager walks around or is in possession of a semi-automatic. That's absurd.

So you think your average Somali has a loaded RPG sitting in his house?

I'm not ripping on Pakistan, Tahir. I was just saying that Melo's comment about how the local villagers were a serious threat to the US special forces was ridiculous.
    3) Request denied.

Na, you took it the wrong way. Those Somalians were militants, but so would anyone with the intention of shooting down a chopper no matter where they are. They can't be villagers. Villagers are up to that type of shit.

I don't get your point. I wasn't calling them villagers.
