Nothing spectacular performances from Argentina. Probably spend most of their energy whipping Azzurrini. Tevez was surprisingly subdued, and D'ale was too casual with possession throughout the match for me. Nonetheless, Argentina still showed at times of their class with fantastic one touch passing, and clever off the ball movement, and could have easily stepped up their gear IMO. Rosales had a good game on the right with some darting runs even though some of his crossing were left to be desired. Cesare Delgado had a bright start but then faded away in the second half. Paraguy on the hand tried to very physical and dirty game. They tried their best to get into Argentinian player's mind through rough tackles and niggling fouls - none more eptimoised by Carlos Gamarra's cheap shot on Tevez. Speaking of Carlos, he would go done on the list of great Inter players who never get chance to play. I like him a lot and have been impressed by him since the prelimary rounds. Clever defender with good positioning sense and anticipation, and provides some solid defending with leadership. Paraguy was missing their star player Cardoso who terriozed opposition thus far and effect was felt more than any player by his striking partner Barreros (I cant spell but something like that). In the end, Argentina's solid defending, and good technical ability won them the match, and Fabricio Coliccini was man of the match IMO. He not only started the move that led to the goal, but was instrumental in winning headers and vital positions in the entire match. And hats off to Argentina who despite lackluster final were truly outstanding champion and on the current form, I got to say (Though prematurely
) red hot favorites for the German WC with Brazil.

Argentina walked off with their first gold medal in 52 years after a 1-0 win over Paraguay in the final of the Olympics.
Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of a tepid encounter after 18 minutes when he coolly converted a right-wing cross from Rosales.
Paraguay’s chances of a comeback were reduced when Martinez was sent-off in the 68th minute for catching D’Alessandro with an elbow, and Figueredo followed him seven minutes from time after collecting his second yellow card for deliberate handball.
Tevez finished as the tournament’s top scorer with eight goals.
