Juventus went close again after Del Piero hit the side netting from 20 yards with his angled drive, but soon after the contraversy came as Ferdinand was shown a straight red for a debateable foul inside the box against Alessendro Del Piero. Del Piero made no mistake, and fired in the bottom left.
Juventus took the gas off the pedal, and defended stubbornly with Cannavaro making a vital goaline clearance in the dying minutes, but held on for a convincing 3-0 win.
