dont get me wrong zlatan is a fantastically gifted player and easily the best forward at juve, and to those who say u cnt become world class if u are not at 23 ur stupid, lokk at henry, didnt reach world class till bout 25. However, IMO zlatan has 2 definig charactersitics, his strenght and his technique. But as a striker these 2 things dnt make u great, as a striker u are only a great if

a) u score 25 plus goals a season
b) u play as a second striker who creates loads chances and get loads assists

Zlatan does neither of the 2 he wont score 25 goals and he cnt be bothered to run let alone get assists. I think Zlatan will alaways be in that bracket of players just below world class. However, i do think, if he stays, he will become a juve legend and be as big a name as DP when he is 30.

Oh and before u brush of my opinion because of my name, I like DP but my world doesnt revolve around him,there are people who ignore opinions simply beacause they are a fan of DP

He's by far the best assister in our team this season, and has scored 10 serie A goals, which I believe is the most among all our forwards, altho I'm not completely sure.

Oh please, I could do every move he made there and probably so could you. It's all about making the right decision and being arrogant enough to go all the way. The only thing he really did there was turning and faking shots, because as he said himself he was "looking for space to shoot". It was a great goal, but nothing out of this world. What Zlatan showed there was what a 1000 players can, but what only a couple have the courage for.

Come on, it's just a fact. You probably could too. It's not the moves themselves that are hard, it's the decision when to do them.

God, that's not what I said. Look at the goal again. It's not the moves themselves that are great, but the succession of moves and the decision making. It hasn't got much to do with skill, it's all about having the courage to dribble like that.

seven i can see where ur coming ffom and he doesnt realing do anything special, but at the end of the day football is all about decisions and its decisions which set u apart from others. granted he did nuttin special but the rest of us dont have the football brain to do what he did. It was a speaical goal IMO.

Of course it was a special goal. I never questioned that. All I'm saying is that his dribbles didn't require that much technique.

Just because he went past those players by 'feinting' and not with unbelievable tricks does not mean that not much technique was involved!

Zidane is one of the most technically gifted players in the world - if you watch him play and watch him beat a man - often it looks like he hardly does anything to go past him - that is because Zidane's best weapon is the ability to disguise what he is going to do, and indeed make the other player think he is going to do something else.

Zidane is one of the best players for using 'feints' to enable him to appear like he is gliding past players without any effort or skill required. Would you question his technical ability?

Does a player have technique in your eyes because he beats players using all the skills shown in the footballing adverts?

Zlatan's goal needed fantastic technique and balance, remember he did it against professional defenders - it's not the same as you doing it in the park against your mates.

To say it didn't require technique is blind ignorance, and I would question what in your eyes makes a player good 'technically' - it is so much more than all the fancy skills and tricks.

Oh yeah, and Zlatan has it in abundance.

Oh does he? I rarely see Zlatan controlling a long ball as perfectly as Del Piero does. The only thing what is great about Zlatan's technique is how he uses his body to control the ball. Really, Zlatan isn't that great technically.

Actually Zidane wasnt the best example avaliable to explain your point... he always manage to do unbelievable moves with the ball, and most important he know WHEN is the right time to do such thing...

I'm just saying - you cannot say his dribbles don't require technique. A statement like that smacks of ignorance.

And Seven, I'm pleased DP can control long balls - but I'm pleased that Zlatan can actually take players on and beat them, technical ability or not

This is exactlly my point u cannt say a player is strong technically when he lacks the ability to judge when to do somthing skillful...

I preffer to watch a player who makes one or two skillful move per game, than a player tried to be magical everytime he touch the ball and lookin stupid in more than half of them....

So am I. All is said was that Zlatan doesn't beat those players thanks to an increbible technique.

Decision making and having technique are two separate things. Obviously you want a player to be great at both, but just because a player makes the wrong decisions does not mean he can't be good technically.

You get players who aren't particularly good on the ball (little technique) who are ahead of everyone else when it comes to decision making - these are often midfield destroyers or defenders.

These two characteristics don't go hand in hand and to say Zlatan isn't technical because he makes the wrong decisions doesn't make sense.

I agree his decision making isn't great, but that does not detract from his technical ability. It does detract from making him more of a 'complete' footballer though.
