Ibrahimovic joins forward élite
Monday, 18 April 2005

Juventus FC striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has fired his way into the ESM Golden Shoe top ten with a superb hat-trick in Sunday's 5-2 win against US Lecce.

Two clubs
The Swedish international has a combined total of 34.5 points in the standings, using the ESM multiplier system on his 18 goals in the 2004/05 season. Before his 31 August move to Italy, Ibrahimovic scored three for AFC Ajax in the Netherlands, worth 4.5 points, and he has now registered 15 goals for Juventus in Serie A, another 30 points.

Johnson penalty
At the top, it was a barren weekend for the leaders, although Arsenal FC's Thierry Henry and FC Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o were not in action because of injury. Crystal Palace FC forward Andrew Johnson, the highest-scoring Englishman in the list in fifth, made it 19 goals for the campaign with his penalty in the 3-3 Premiership draw against Norwich City FC on Saturday.

Only the leading five countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England) on the UEFA Ranking have two as their multiplier. This is to emphasise the difference in international performance level between clubs from those countries and those from the other countries.

A player cannot first play in a summer league (eg Norway) and then in a winter league (eg Spain) and combine the points total for each season.

LOL :cheesy:

Except for Davids, I don't see any resemblance of those icons with the players you mentioned. :)
Ive changed it some now but I can explain my thoughts. :)

Juventus arrivals 2005: Rosicky (looks like a child), Davids (geek), Kompany (always studies. On the bus, plain, even at halftime), Cassano (He's a clown, simple), Mutu (likes to party), Chiellini (keeps he's mouth shut for an possible transfer)
Juventus departures 2005: Del Piero (Doesn't seem so happy any more, struggling), Trezeguet (well I just thought the smiley looked like him), Tudor (i have no idea why I chosed that one, not the current one either), Appiah (screws up), Tacchinardi (always such a sweatheart)

If you don't remember the smileys, that's just to darn bad. :D

Juventus' Zlatan Ibrahimovic is keen to score the goal that would take him level with Michel Platini's tally for his first season in Turin.

Ibrahimovic has had a sensational impact in Italy, scoring 15 times so far and needing just one to equal iconic Juve legend Platini's opening salvo in his first season.

Although he will not catch Welshman John Charles' record of 28 goals in his first season, the Swedish star has outlined the approach that has made him such a hit.

"I'm not scared of anything and I always play to win even when people think you cannot," explained Ibrahimovic to La Stampa.

"If you don't aim high then you will never amount to anything.

"The thing that gives me the most satisfaction is surprising the opponent.

"I have always said that I want to be the world's strongest player.

"I don't understand how people can enjoy themselves if they don't have big goals.

"I think like the complete centre forward. I like scoring goals and I like setting them up as well.

"There isn't a particular thing I prefer. Since I have been at Juve I have been seen as a different kind of forward.

"I play for one of the biggest and most famous clubs, and this counts."
