i disagree. in my eyes capello's treatment has brought out the best in del piero. he plays his best football after his injury, and it's not a coincedence this all started happening when cap arrived. capello is above everythig else a great psichologist, he knows how to manage players. what he did with del piero is pure psichology. he brought out the best of him, using dp's best feat, determination.
In my opinion, this is a possible theory but just a theory. No one really knows. I don't think Del Piero now is better than in 2002 , 2003 etc. Not at all. Del Piero might be awesome because of himself only, and Capello not using him more might have hurt an ever GREATER Del Piero that we could have witnessed. The truth is that we'll never know. I'm just saying that Capello's record is not perfect, when you see how he benched Montella and then he scored 24 goals in one season after... then he got injured, but did the benching help ? We don't know and we have no way of knowing. I wouldn't give credit to Capello on Del Piero's form simply because I don't think he treated him with respect, but I wouldn't BLAME Capello for anything either, seeing the current situation, no doubt.

i see it differently i guess. it was different with capello and montella than it is with capello and dp. capello almost never gave montella chance, i remember years before he even played that bozo delvechio over him, and that treatment was wrong, as montelly showed later on. but he is the coach and he makes the picks. it's known cap isn't a fan of short forwards. but with dp, though it may not seem that way sometimes, he is giving him a chance regualary. he is even praising him in the papers, congratulating, saying what a champion he is and stuff. i wouldn't say he is direspecting him. i believe, as you said it, my theory, cause it's known capello is a great psichologist and he just knew how to bring the best out of dp, i don't believe it to be a coincedence. take mutu for example, i guarantee you he would have already requested a transfer if we had a different coach who would be doing the exact same thing as capello is, playing him out wide and not regulary. now you can either believe mutu has simply seen the light or cap had something to do with it, i go for nr.2. ;)

ibra and trez shoud start this match imo. they are our nr.1 attack for the whole season, scored over 25 goals so far, i don't see this as a game where we shuffle our team. dp should play from half time if we suck real bad, but trez-ibra should, and most probably will, start.
