I think he'll do much better with them than he did for Liverpool. He'll probably fit in better with their tactics, since his control and pace aren't enough to succeed with Liverpool's "hoof the ball upfield and hope it goes to a forward" tactic. Heskey's hard work ethic will suit the Blues, I think he'll bag a few goals for them :)

Spot On..Now "Few" is the real word here..you said it right..he can score FEW goals for them and that is what I believe is true..The man is a striker after all and he must be scoring some goals

I hope you can say this word "Few" to some lads at Liverpool's website's Message Board, as they say he will be scoring a 20+ number of goals...I believe this is funny...He didn't score that much with Liverpool in any season(as i remember) since he joined The Reds

HESKEY SCORING 20+ goals In ONE season !!! I can hardly imagine that

Heskey isn't a prolific goalscorer, we know that, but he works hard, plays for the team, and always gives his best. He's definitely not someone I would want to see playing for Juve, but we're talking about Birmingham City here.
He had more service in Liverpool than he'll ever have with a boring, extremely defensive team like Birmingham. He is a hard worker, I agree, but I don't think he'll do better there.

Birmingham should be relegated.......bring Leeds back up!! :fero:

nosub - People always talk about players not doing as well at smaller clubs because they don't have as much service, but that isn't always the case. If Gila joins us he'll definitely have an upgrade in service, but that's not a guarantee that he'll score 23 goals for us. Some players just do well in lesser clubs.

Yes, but that doesn't make Heskey a good signing for Birmingham. He might do well with them.....not guaranteed. One thing though.....Birmingham has no attack......none whatsoever. I'd rather watch Banana Island NT having a go in the Premiership than sitting through an agonizing 90 minutes in which Birmingham is involved. Heskey is going from a lot of service to NONE. We'll have to wait and see, but in general Heskey is not one of my favorites.

Birmingham should be relegated twice. :fero: :p

You say that Birmingham have no attack, but that's the whole point! They're signing Heskey, who imo is one of the best strikers available to Birmingham, because of that. I personally think he'll be a big help to the Blues.

    Samuel sold to Real
    Thursday 20 May, 2004

Walter Samuel is no longer a Roma player after he was sold to Real Madrid for £17.8m.

Reports this morning suggested that a deal was close and negotiations were concluded this evening.

Real beat Premiership giants Chelsea to Samuel’s signature after the stopper was made available for transfer.

It is believed that the former Boca Juniors ace will net around £2.8m a season for the next five years.

Samuel is set to fly out to Spain on Saturday before being presented to the media as a Real Madrid player on Monday.

The defender becomes the second man to leave the Giallorossi in the space of 24 hours after Jonathan Zebina signed for Juventus.

Brazilian midfielder Emerson could soon follow as reports suggest that he has already agreed to join Juve too. However, the two clubs haven’t agreed a fee.

Darn, Real actually have a good defender now :(

Well..Though Real Madrid has singed Samuel..they still need 2 or 3 more defenders
Samuel alone won't save them, but it'll definitely help.
