It's hard to judge how good Stendardo is. The entire Lazio squad is poor and thus Stendardo is surrounded by poor players, but he does stand out as one of their better performers. Last season Lazio were a solid side, their solid structure and organisation at the back contributing to it. For me Dellio Rossi = Lazio though, without him they would really be in trouble.

Stendardo could be an average player in an average side made to look good by a good coach. Or he is a good player in an average side, who'll shine when he finds his place(that place being a better side).

Still...
the point is:

Sissoko, Stendardo, Mellberg what are we aiming for??????

Going far on the UEFA CUP???

well I guess we can all party when we get to the Quarter Finals and get dumped by Leverkussen or Benfica next year :D

From the way our owners invest and our managers choose, i think this our target next year. No matter if we bring in VDV and Barzagli, we cant do better than position number 3 in serie A, (positions 1-2 will be occupied by the Milan clubs and Roma), two players are not enough to do the difference when they are surrounded by...Lucchinis and Molinaros...:pumpkin:
We wont be able to compete the Milan clubs like that and we might not be able to pass the groups in CL, so going far in Uefa cup is a realistic target and wouldnt harm us anyway...
More TV rights, coverage, commercial, sponsors etc
We cannot attract big sponsors being 3rd and being disqualified before x-mas from the CL, so going far to the Uefa CUP isnt necessarily a bad thing:p
But still, i m not confident that these players are good enough for this job either,
have you seen Sevilla's or Benfica's subs??:faq1:

Welcome Guglielmo! Not a worldclass defender but solid enough to solve our recent problems in defence. BTW he signed a new 5-year-contract with Lazio before joining us, so he will be playing here for just 6 months and after his loan spell we won't see him again in black and white, right?

I somehow understand the Secco&Co. bashing because of the "flops" such as Almiron and Tiago, but on the other side people are moaning about our winter transfer targets. This is what I don't get at all. We are after the likes of Lucchini,Campagnaro and Stendardo instead of being after Zapata,Ivanovic and Carvalho. So what? I mean, why on earth should Udinese let go their rock in defence and arguably the best young defender in Serie A in January when they want to reach at least the Uefa Cup? Why should we pay 15 m € to overbid Chelsea in the race for an unproven Russian Leaugue player who witout a doubt got some talent, but let's be honest: if Chelsea is in bid for a player most teams got no chance. Now we got Stendardo to solve our CB shortage and NOT to be the leader of the Juve defence in the next 5 years and still, everybody is moaning. It's supposed to be just a loan to get some depth. Of course I wouldn't mind a WC center back now either, but to be honest we don't even need an expensive CB that much. That said, it isn't easy to get worldclass CB's in the middle of a season. This isn't FM. Legrottaglie is playing a great season while Chiellini will be back in a month or so. So with Stendardo, Grygera and maybe even Mellberg as CB back up's we're set in that section till summer. That should be enough to reach a CL spot.
I don't even understand the blame for Secco in the Boumsong story. Ok he was practically sold to Lyon and he was on his way to join them, but then the Mellberg story stalled and if the Boumsong deal would have taken place we would not have any CB back-up against Inter, which is by far worse than delay this deal IMO. I'm not even a fan of Secco nor I had the intention to defend him, I'm just tired of reading the "Fu*k Secco and Fire this and hire that" all over again.

But let's get back Moggi and get relegated to Serie C,wohoooo:weee:
